Internet Radio Talk Show

#1 Postby vacanechaser » Mon Mar 24, 2008 10:45 am

Hey everyone, have not been around for awhile.. needed a break...

I wanted to invite everyone to join in on Wednesday nights at 9pmEDT to http://www.hurricanetrack.com to listen to our new Internet based radio talk show.. We have had 3 shows already starting with our first guest stormchaser, photographer and friend Jim Reed.. Our second week we had stormchaser and friend Mike Thiess on the show.. Last week we talked about how the Hurricane Intercept Research Team started... You can find the archives to these shows here ; http://www.hurricanetrack.com/radio_show.html

Now, this week we will have the author of North Carolina's and Florida's Hurricane History, Jay Barnes.. The show starts at 9pm and the link to hear the show is here, http://www.hurricanetrack.com..

I will post again here on Wednesday to remind everyone..So if you have questions for Jay we will be taking calls and emails Wednesday night..

Yes, Jesse- we are doing a program over at hurricanetrack.com and are having a lot of fun with it. I have always wanted to do something like that and it is helping us to get ready for more features that we are bringing to the 10 year old site.

Note that Mike Watkins is joining us when he can. We have all three of us hosting the show, so to speak, and that makes it more fluid and entertaining. The magic of the Internet is quite amazing. We are lucky to have Jay Barnes on with us. Future guests include Stan Goldenberg of HRD, Dan Summers of Collier County emergency management and Tim Millar of Cyclone Research Group. He will actually be reporting for us from the National Hurricane Conference next week in Orlando. If you can, check out the program- we are doing some innovative things with Windows Media to help produce the content. We're on each Weds night at 9pm ET. All you have to do is go to our homepage and the show will be right there when we go live.

You know, we ought to get the founders of storm2k on one night. This board is huge and has done a lot for many people all over the world. I'll have to email the s2k guys and book 'em!

When can we expect the recording to be online? Is there some process that has to be done in order to get the recording of the show on the website? I usually can't catch the show until later in the evening. Thanks!

Got the show archived now. Thanks so much storm2k for letting us post about it here. We would LOVE to have Chad and Marshall on one night to give people an inside listen to what it's like to start, run and then manage a message board as broad-reaching as storm2k! That would be cool!

BTW- to catch the archived show, head over here: http://www.hurricanetrack.com/newstalk/ ... _show.html

Will the show be available as 'podcasts'? I see that there is a mp3 file available, but I was wondering if you planning to make a feed available for programs like iTunes or iPodder to automatically download the mp3.

Thanks!
