ITCZ is active

This is the most active ITCZ that I haved seen this season so far and being that active and with time will make the air more moist in the tropical atlantic and that could open the door for something to spin.Will something spin out of the ITCZ that is more north in latitud? Well time will tell what will happen.

Yes Cyc. Look at 9N 31W. That is the biggest blob of convection I have seen this season, including TD2, east of the islands.

What does ITCZ stand for/mean? By the looks of all the moisture coming off Africa, I would guess it has something to do with that, but I'm just a big weather dummy so I don't know! :roll:

Wow... sure does look like the ITCZ is exceptionally active..........just makes it more favorable for tropical systems to develop............. ;)

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE
SOUTHEASTERN GULF OF MEXICO ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE
INTERACTING WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW. THE MAIN ACTIVITY SHOULD
CONTINUE TO SPREAD WEST-NORTHWESTWARD TOWARD THE YUCATAN
PENINSULA. TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED.

A WESTWARD-MOVING TROPICAL WAVE IS LOCATED ABOUT 950 MILES EAST OF
THE WINDWARD ISLANDS. SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT IS NOT ANTICIPATED.
