Cute pics, Johnny!

Another beautiful day here in SE TX... I'm enjoying this thing called a sun! I've been able to let my dog in the past few days without getting a towel and cleaning her paws and/or drying her off. That's almost unheard of since we got her 2 years ago. lol It helps that we finally got dirt spread to raise the level and our sidewalk redone, so no more marinating in mud just to get indoors. It used to stay muddy long after other parts of the yard had started to dry, and particularly after the sidewalk sank about a year ago. Now we can go to and from the car, even after rain, without getting muddy! Yay!! It was a chilly 42F this morning. I had to get up at 4am and the house was cold! Tonight looks much warmer... lows in the 50's.

I'm starting to get excited thinking about pool days before too long. :)

Thanks!!

Ok, so who else is suffering from spring time allergies here in Southeast, Texas! I've been so so up until today. My sinuses are absolutely killing me! I guess living in right in the middle of the woods doesn't helps matters much huh? :Toilet:

Whoo-Hooo

Morning strato-cu has completely broken up, just some isolated and very flat looking cumulus, breezy, South winds. 78ºF

I'm so glad to see us under return flow for several days...warm mornings, etc. Maybe now my skin will come back to life.

Yeah, but with the front stalling North of us, and the standard 20 to 30% pops all weekend, I'll have to drag out the sprinkler. If I water the lawn, it'll probably rain, if I don't, it'll stay dry for certain.

I don't live in the middle of the woods, but your post pretty much sums it up for me, ESPECIALLY THE SMILEY!!!! :ggreen:

Radar shows some storms busting the cap in Austin and Waller counties.

Sadly, they are moving North, and not towards my lawn. But I'm sure the lawns of San Felipe de Austin, first Anglo settlement in Texas, are happy.

I may have to drag out the sprinkler in a couple of hours, and hope that triggers some rain for tomorrow.

Ed Mahmoud wrote:Sprinkler going in the front. Nice little t-storm cluster approaching Buffalo, about half way from here to Dallas, but I think it stays dry here. Positively would not have rained if I hadn't watered, one of those Murphy's law corollaries.

But watering might trigger some rain tomorrow.

Nice reflectivity on that from the fairly distant HGX radar. Maybe hailing up that way.

65 db on base reflectivity.

Crazy out there this morning! Constant thunder rumbling and flashes of lightning. 20% chance of rain? There's one little storm moving east over south central louisiana. Hmmmph. Think i'll pull the pillows over my head and try to get back to sleep!

Today looks a little more promising than yesterday.

Tomorrow even moreso.

With numerous thunderstorms all over the place, they upped our rain chances to 80% heavy rain for this afternoon and tonight (for you and me both). Somehow, as unbelievable as it sounds, they have danced around me so far. I've heard a lot of thunder, but have only seem a few sprinkles.

Had some moderate showers under the cap as we attended the bazaar at the Carmelite Mission of St. Teresa, at Blue Bell and Deer Trail in Aldine/Houston. I had the elotes en vaso, with lots of cheese, a little chili, and some sour cream, and then a couple of carnita tacos, and then got a bowl of home made menudo, but I had already eaten too much, the bowl was big, and I only finished about half.

Good crowd, despite the off and on showers. Bazaar is open until 6 or 7 tonight. Those nuns usually attend Mass at our church, but this morning the auxilliary bishop, Bishop Vasquez, said Mass for the sisters so they could set up the bazaar.

The nuns are lucky, checking the radar, those little showers are busting through the cap about the latitude of Huntsville.

Nothing but a few sprinkles here in Spring Branch and the sun is out now. My son and his wife came through some heavy storms up around Waller on their way back from Austin.

There's been 13"-17" of rain in the Toledo Bend area from persistent training storms. Luckily these areas are sparsely populated.

The cloud deck here in the Galleria area has already broken into a mix of sun/cumulus clouds - much earlier than yesterday. We just might get enough heating to overcome the cap.

When I was cleaning the pool yesterday it sure was muggy - I almost jumped-in but the water is still just a tad cool (65F).

Of course, that's the same temp. as the Guadalupe but it's also 95F outside when we go....

The Guadalupe is way too cold and crowded for me. We now head deeper into the Hill Country and tube the Frio River come summertime. The scenery is breath taking the river runs crystal clear. If you like the Guadalupe Jasons then you'd love the Frio!

New WRF shows generally light precip in SE Texas as front passes tomorrow.

Image

WRF shows pretty modest instabilty and light wind fields. I know the SPC SWODY2 has SE Texas in a Slight Risk area tomorrow, but if the WRF is correct, severe weather will be isolated, at best.
