Well I tend to agree with you, but they could have an armload of data you and I dont have access to.

Something must have changed in the last 30 minutes. If they knew they were going to issue a PDS, you would think they would have gone with 15%H at 20z.

Yep first cell is breaking out near electra near the dryline bulge, looks like it went up pretty rapidly, not surprising given LI like that. Looks like a pretty decent week for severe storms!

Lawton, OK will be quite unstable with rather impressive shear forecast per RUC when that cell is in area.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0579
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0409 PM CDT MON APR 07 2008

AREAS AFFECTED...PARTS OF SRN/CNTRL KS INTO SW MO

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH UNLIKELY

VALID 072109Z - 072315Z

SEVERE THREAT WITH DEVELOPING CONVECTION THROUGH MID-EVENING SEEMS
LIKELY TO REMAIN MARGINAL...BUT ADDITIONAL WATCHES NORTH OF TORNADO
WATCH 169 WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH STRONGER DESTABILIZATION LATER THIS
EVENING.

STEEPENING ISENTROPIC ASCENT WITHIN A LOWER/MID TROPOSPHERIC
BAROCLINIC ZONE IS CONTRIBUTING TO INCREASING THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
SOUTHEAST OF RUSSELL KS INTO THE VICINITY OF CHANUTE KS. THIS IS
OCCURRING AS THE AIR MASS WITHIN THIS ZONE MOISTENS ON THE LEADING
EDGE OF GULF RETURN FLOW...AND LIFTED PARCELS ARE ALLOWED TO REACH
LEVELS OF FREE CONVECTION NORTH OF STRONGER CAPPING. LATEST RUC
GUIDANCE SUGGESTS THAT THE DEVELOPING CONVECTIVE BAND WILL GRADUALLY
SHIFT EAST NORTHEASTWARD...LIKELY EXTENDING ALONG AN AXIS SOUTH OF
THE INTERSTATE 70 CORRIDOR OF CENTRAL/EASTERN KANSAS INTO WEST
CENTRAL MISSOURI BY 07/01-02Z. STRONGEST CELLS IN ZONE OF BETTER
MOISTURE RETURN/STRONGER FORCING SEEM LIKELY TO BE FOCUSED NORTHEAST
OF CHANUTE KS INTO AREAS SOUTHWEST THROUGH SOUTHEAST OF SEDALIA MO..
WHERE MOST UNSTABLE CAPE UP TO 500 J/KG PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE TO
SUPPORT THE RISK FOR MARGINALLY SEVERE HAIL.

I have a Kyle Petty t-shirt, and I've gotten the kids Bobby Labonte t-shirts, but I have never owned a Bobby Labonte t-shirt.

Field foreman near Kamay, TX can see a visible funnel, with dust below it, to his North. general direction of Electra.

He said it was just a funnel cloud, but I told him, if he can see the dust/debris cloud, it is a tornado.
