Currently, there is the third in a series of Mesoscale Convective Systems that has formed in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, either moving eastward or dropping southeast (this remains to be seen)...
Perhaps this is a sign that the Gulf is warmer that it normally is at this time of year - just an observation...

Oops - apparently crazy had the same thought (see other topic)...
It's unusual to have three of the same convective systems within the same number of days - good to see this large amount of rain, for sure...
It certainly had the vigor of a TD when crossing South Florida last night - it was enough to disrupt my satellite cable company's reception in the late evening hours...

Actually I don't believe that MCV's have anything to do with SST anomalies. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
