Still six months to the 'real' season.
I have a feeling the EastPac season will start shortly after the official May 15th date. Just a feeling.

The 1908 season was near average with 10 tropical cyclones forming during the season. This season got off to a very early start, with a Category 2 hurricane forming on March 6, making it the earliest hurricane on record to form in the Atlantic Basin. Another hurricane formed and existed entirely during the month of May. Cape Hatteras got affected by two hurricanes and one tropical storm that year.
From Wikipedia.
Very interesting season...

It is still NC Blizzard season, and even Waco, TX has had measurable snowfall Easter weekend.
Putting the cart before the horse here, the winter weather threads, where I can wishcast a foot of snow for my city without some school marm type reminding me that thousands could die, isn't over yet. I might have wishcast hurricanes for my town before having kids, and a homeowners policy with deductibles, but no more. I like my house, and we put about $30k in improvements into it last year. But snow, that is just pretty, and an excuse to stay home with the kids and build snow men and snow forts.
My wife wouldn't let me wake up the kids for the Christmas Eve 2004 miracle. It didn't stick to the ground, but enough accumulated on my 1993 Buick Skylark (since replaced by a 2007 Impala) that I probably could have made one snowball, and the snow falling, backlit by streetlights, was awesome.
Makes me feel sorry for you Florida people.

I'm 6'3". Plus I carry kids in car-seats in the back. Rice-burners and Prius' don't cut the mustard for me. I'd have gotten a Caprice or Crown Vic if they still built one.
Still gets better mileage than an SUV, and a lot cheaper.

Less than 50 days now!
This went kind of far down the page, so I'm bumping it, if that's OK.
