Arrival of the SAL

#1 Postby HUC » Mon Apr 21, 2008 5:32 pm

To day mark in Guadeloupe, the arrival of the Sal for this year.
Hazy sky was the rule .A sign of the Azores HP to translate to a position more favorable to translate saharian particles over the tropical Atlantique.
What is the observation in your islands?

In Puerto Rico so far this year zero sal has invaded the island.HUC,I have to tell you that if the Azores high is not as strong as in past years, the Sal propagation thru the Atlantic will be less.Todays data indicates not much sal in The Atlantic below 20n latitud.Lets see what happens in the comming months and see if 2008 will have big sal events or not.

Hi Huc, absolutely ...you're right, i'm agree with you, good observation as usual :D ,whereas as you mentionned it....only time will tell us how the things will evolve during the seasout. Whereas, seeing on this forward angle, SAL could be less, but definitely too early to assume that..... :spam:
Hope you're in shape to track the canes of the season!
See yoo soon, nice regards from Guadeloupe Gustywind. :)
