Storm of the Month: April 2008 [ Nominations ]

It's that time of the year again and we most nominate that storm or weather event that was the most impressive, in your opinion, for the month of April. You may nominate more than one storm or weather event.

You have the power to nominate the best of the worst in April!!!

One day left!

A note to remember.

In the case of a storm / weather event occurring in two consecutive months, like VSCS Nargis, the storm / weather event can be nominated in both months, but if it wins in the first month that it's nominated, it cannot be nominated for a second time.

Hmmm... I'd throw in the severe duststorms in Iraq.

A couple of strong fronts passed through the region, leaving a large area of blowing dust. Central Iraq was hit the hardest, with several days of visibilities below 1/4mi (400m). The dust also affected Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabian, Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and Yeman... as well as surrounding waters.

I would like to nominate the Missouri floods of April 2008. These two pictures can't do the situation justice.

I'd say typhoon Neoguri for being the first N Hemisphere TC of the year and also giving a T8 signal in HK...the earliest use of the signal in decades.
