"Lost" Thread-part 3

Call me crazy but I still say moving back to the beach was smart. Sawyer is not a moron. I wouldn't have gone with Locke to begin with.....Jack's the one I'd follow. Second would be Sayid.
Never Locke.
Never Ben.
But I respect your opinions Derek. It's just a TV show. I still look at the situation as this - you're on an airliner, it suddenly goes down and you think you're on a remote but safe island. Awaiting rescue. All you want is for you and your fellow plane survivors to be safe. Period.
This is why I would follow Jack. He has always had everyone's best interest and safety at heart, first and foremost.

1. Removed the children from the battlefield
2. Sent people to infiltrate the groups toi determine whether or not they were "good". Maybe this means, to determine if they were Windmore spies
3. Has attempted to determine the cause of the fertility problem on the island
4. has not killed innocents (A MISTAKE ON HIS PART... had he let Michael blow up the ship, Alex would be alive)
5. He just saved everyone's backide last night from certain death
1. Ben and the Hostiles murdered over 40 members of the DHARMA Initiative in cold blood; that is for all intents and purposes genocide.
2. Ben arranged for Goodwin to be killed because Ben has a crush on Juliet.
3. Ben, and the others, convinced Michael to aid them via emotional and physical blackmail; not once but twice.
4. Ben steals children, you say remove from the battlefield, I say kidnap; so that he can keep his people loyal for his own selfish reasons by provdiding them the children they can not themselves have.
5. Ben constantly manipulates people for his own ends.

But Jack has managed to screw up everything. He looks for the idealistic outcome, where Ben just wants results. If I wanted to survive, I'd be with the one who can get results, ESPECIALLY since we no know there is a war (that Jack allowed to happen looking for the idealistic outcome)

Derek - just out of curiosity before Lost fans met Ben and got to know him, who was your favorite?
I'm guessing Locke.....
Jack was my favorite right away. But I'm sure that's obvious.....LOL
We may just have to agree to disagree and in the end maybe Ben will come out smelling like a rose. But I doubt it.

I tend to disagree that there was any kind of promise they wouldn't hurt each other's families. I think it was more like he changed the rules by somehow altering what Ben "knew" was going to happen (they weren't going to kill Alex) because Ben can travel into the future. That's why he said what he said about Alex when Keamy had a gun to her head. He "knew" he wouldn't pull the trigger because in whatever time travel/flash foward flashes, Alex was alive. But who knows? That's JMO... and there are a bunch of plausible opinions out there. lol This show is crazy!
Interesting Doc Jensen article this week and a close-up of that glyph door from his trip to the set a few weeks ago:

TV Guide lists Week in Review: Top 20 Unforgettable Moments (Lost mentioned not once but twice)....also several mentions of our other favorite shows, Big Bang, Mother, Survivor, Office, etc.....

Derek, if you take the time to read fans' comments on this list, go to page 2, read acoustic622's post. I agree with him/her, Alex's death was very sad to watch. Shame on Ben.

Wellll, it was nice to see future Jack with Kate. I knew that was her staircase but while in the shower, she sounded a bit like Sun! Which confused us....my daughter wanted Charlie to appear to Jack but I suspected it would be his dad.
So, does future Jack know Aaron is his nephew? It seems like he does. When he tells Kate she isn't even related to Aaron.
Juliet seemed to surrender to whatever feelings Jack has for Kate and obviously by now Kate is returning them.
A rather romantic episode, for Lost.....
But where's Claire - I cried!

wx247 wrote:So, in your theory, the future can be different than what it appears to be to those who can go there? Wow... if that is part of the whole deal, I will be greatly disappointed... and confused.
I think what I meant (and I wouldn't really call it my theory... just tossing out ideas that are ever changing while watching this show) was something similar to Desmond. Desmond "changed" the future each time he saved Charlie's life. I was just thinking that if Ben had some sort of future-flash or time travel in the future and saw Alex alive, he knew Keamy wasn't going to kill her. But if Widmore somehow changed the future (like Desmond did each time he saved Charlie), then could be what he meant by changing the rules. I don't know... just thinking/typing out loud. If you think about it, if.. say, Ben had seen the future (before Desmond changed it) and had seen the underground water station, perhaps he would have only seen Desmond down there, or Sayid instead of Charlie, because if at that point, Desmond hadn't altered the future, Ben might see the future as it was supposed to occur, and Charlie would have already been dead. So if he made a decision based on that, he'd be wrong. Desmond "changed the rules."
Are you following me? It's quite confusing.
