"Lost" Thread-part 3

I love this show too!
But non-believers will have a hayday with this one - did you hear, they're going to move the island on Lost!
I don't even try to recruit new fans.....it's impossible to tell non-fans how awesome this show is.
Enjoyed that scene with Ben and Hurley, sharing a candy bar. Michael Emerson deserves an Emmy for his portrayal of Ben. With only one look, ME can say so much, with only an eyebrow lift or an intense stare with those creepy eyes......he was giving many looks to Locke last night.
And didn't we know that Jack would be up and about? Since time moves so slow on that island and him having major surgery, normally you'd be laid for a week or more. But our beloved Losties do not have a week to lie about.....LOL
Claire's reaction to seeing Locke and being in the cabin was not the Claire we've all come to know and love. Either she'd dead or drugged. Or both....if that's possible....LOL
The Claire we know would be frantic to know Aaron is safe.

The island healed him.
She could be an older "Claire". She knows Aaron is safe with Kate.
As for moving the island back -- moving the island back "in time", maybe?

Horace and his wife are the ones who helped Ben's dad on the side of the road when Ben was born. Remember Ben's mom gave birth to him and then she died. They're the ones who pulled up in the car to help, and Horace later recruited Ben's dad to the Dharma Initiative. Read Doc Jensen's article the day LOST airs and then his recap of the show on Friday. I won't even watch anymore without reading Doc first. lol It's like a prerequisite to the show for me now.

Here's his article before yesterday's show and then you can find today's recap on there as well.

Yep, Mary. Michael Emerson really does an incredible job as Ben.
As for Claire, maybe she really did die in the explosion and the Claire we're seeing is a ghost of her, just like Christian. I dunno... Doc Jensen talked about this in last week's recap and yesterday's tease. I haven't read today's recap yet.
I have so many questions.... sometimes I truly think my brain is going to explode.

This new twist certianly would explain why Whitmore and/or the DI couldn't find it before; meaning after the "Purge".

Personally I thought he should have received several awards already; in large part for last season's episode "The Man Behind the Curtain". Certainly it was one of the best Lost episodes (TMBTC) of all time IMO.

'Lost' adds hours
ABC extends final two seasons
By James Hibberd
May 9, 2008, 01:00 AM
ABC has found more hours for the final two seasons of "Lost."
The 2009 and 2010 editions of the hit drama will be 17 hours each -- not 16 as previously planned.
ABC has added two hours to the show's production plan because the WGA strike knocked three hours out of the current season. To partly compensate, the network recently added an additional hour to Part 2 of the season finale that airs May 29.
All told, the changes will wrap up the show with the same number of episodes that producers and ABC negotiated last year.
"We were supposed to do 16-16-16," "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof said. "But we ended up doing 14 this season, so we owe two."
Lindelof, however, ruled out the show extending beyond the remaining 34-episode order.
"(Executive producer) Carlton Cuse and I worked so hard to get the show to end that I think to suddenly say, 'Oh, I think we got another season in us' would be a betrayal to everybody involved in the show -- but most of all the audience," he said. "It's better to retire your number at the top of your game."
For the upcoming season finale, Lindelof promised a more action-driven cliffhanger instead of the mind-bending flash-forward time shift that stunned fans last season.
"The finale this year will not be as tricky as last year," he said. "Hopefully, this year it's a little bit more of a straightforward action-adventure narrative. But the ending of the episode will hopefully engage and intrigue people looking forward to the next season of the show."
Lindelof declined to say whether the flash forwards will continue, but did leave open the possibility of the show's main story line on the island catching up with the flash forwards that have taken place on the mainland this season.
"It's very exciting that the audience is going to be wondering when is the present going to be (next season)," he said. "We've moved backward in time, now we've moved forward in time. The present of the show has always been on the island -- that may not necessarily be the case in the future."
When it comes time to air the series finale in 2010, Lindelof said he and Cuse plan to "go into hiding for many, many months" at an "undisclosed location."
"David Chase set a great example when he went off to Paris after 'The Sopranos' ending, which is great because all these people are going to be asking, 'What does it mean? What is it?' " he said. "The fact that there's no one really around to answer that question, it forces people to come up with what they think it means. We can guarantee our show will not end with a cut to black, it will be more clear than that. But whenever anything you love ends ... there's a certain disappointment."

So, what did everyone think about last night's episode? I thought the storylines really seemed to move forward. We now know it's official - Sawyer has a heart after all and he does care about his friends on the island. Even Jack. I had to laugh when he asked Jack if he cut himself shaving and when he hears what the bleeding is from, his reaction - what else have I missed? I laughed how Jack just nonchalantly says - Juliet took out my appendix. As if it's no big deal! Anyway, did you all notice how Sawyer mentions Hurley (actually Hugo) but not Locke? Very few care about Locke.
But we all know that something very tragic and disturbing is coming.
Did anyone tear up last night? I did! A few times......
I don't know why post-island/crash the press/Oceanic officials didn't admit that Aaron was Claire's child. I guess then they'd have to admit that Claire lived long enough to deliver the baby. And quite possibly Kate wouldn't be able to raise him.
The look on Jack's face when he learned Claire was/is his sister.
You want to hope that many crash survivors are on the island, stuck between that world and the real world. But you know something terrible is coming for the finale. Which makes me think back to previous finales. They at least left you feeling hopeful. Not this time. The foreshadowing is all this fan can think of.

Episode Recap: There's No Place Like Home
As the final moments of tonight’s episode unspooled accompanied by the stirring music of Michael Giacchino, I could barely stand the suspense as we watched all of our favorite core characters positioning themselves (or being positioned) for the battle to come. All of the pieces are falling into place for what is sure to be a mind-blowing finale in two weeks.
As the episode began with a flash forward, we saw the homecoming of the recently-saved Oceanic Six. In the back of a military cargo plane, they got their stories aligned and prepped for the onslaught of questions to come, deciding that their collective shock would be their best defense against probing queries for which they had no answers. Jack continued to play the role of leader rallying his troops, though it seemed as though his credibility was already beginning to wane at this point, his typical heroic demeanor in some way offset by a touch of desperation. It was bittersweet and emotionally satisfying to see each of these characters facing the ones they left behind—Jack seeing his mother, Hurley and Sun seeing their parents. But what was worse was the big question mark we are still left with—why did these six leave the island and what was the fate of the ones that remained?
On the island, the survivors slowly began to realize the danger they were facing from Keamy and his mercenaries as Daniel pushed to get people back to the freighter. Jack and Kate met up with a shell-shocked Sawyer, Miles and Aaron on the way to find the errant helicopter. We later learned that Lapidus had purposely dropped the phone so that the survivors could track him. Meanwhile, fresh off their visit to Jacob’s cabin, Locke, Hurley and Ben continued their trek through the island as Ben formulated a plan to sacrifice himself—at least temporarily—to buy them time and to help them reach the elusive Orchid station.
Back to the future, Sayid enjoyed his long-awaited reunion with Nadia; Sun confronted her father about Jin and then dropped the bombshell that she had used her settlement to buy controlling interest in her father’s company; some of the Oceanic Six gathered to celebrate Hurley’s birthday, as the gift from his father served as an eerie reminder that the numbers still have some kind of role to play; and Jack delivered a long-delayed eulogy for Christian and received some disturbing news about his family tree. (That was Veronica Hamel of Hill Street Blues fame playing Jack’s mother.)
Thanks to Daniel, a handful of survivors made it back to the freighter, including Sun, caring for Aaron, and Jin who had a tense and unexpected reunion with the long-last Michael. The survivors had barely made it on board before Desmond, Michael and Jin discovered a huge stash of C4—enough to incinerate 10 freighters. And back on the island, Kate and Sayid landed in a trap courtesy of the timeless Richard Alpert.
We did get a few more answers tonight, in fits and starts of course:
— the world is under the impression that Kate gave birth to Aaron on the island.
— Jack mentioned that eight people survived, so what’s the story with the additional two survivors who allegedly died on the island?
—Sun claimed that Jin died on impact. Why is that such a critical point (later clarified on his tombstone).
—Jack did not learn the truth about Claire until he was off the island.
So, moving the island is a “measure of last resort?” I should hope so since it seems like a rather large undertaking. But as Ben reminded John, “I always have a plan.” What of the other survivors? Where is this grand plan leading them and how can this season top itself? As I am sitting here and rewatching the final few minutes, I am again convinced that not only will the finale meet expectations. It will exceed them. See you in two weeks!
But we all know that something very tragic and disturbing is coming.

One word for last night's episode:
AWESOME!
Haha, nice to see those 6 get off the island...but I definitely sensed the impending doom, both in the music and what the characters are doing currently. Obviously Jin and Desmond were not on the plane with them, so do Micheal, Jin, and Desmond get killed by the C4? Time is running short for all the survivors.

Yeah. The episodes will run uninterrupted without repeats(the only reason they didn't this season is because of the stupid writers strike). There was supposed to be 16 each season but because of the strike there were only 14 this year, so Season 5 and 6 will have 17 to make up for it.
and that is how it is scheduled to be for the next 2 seasons til the show ends in May 2010.

They have a plan . . . O6 are off the island . . . and now they have to go back (Season 5 17 episodes) . . . the fight for the island (Season 6 17 episodes).

FYI - TV Guide's issue cover story is all about Lost. Check it out!
Can't wait for the finale.....thinking back to last year at this time, I am so glad I didn't know about the spoiler flash-forward concept! I am hoping this finale is as good, but nothing will top that feeling most of us had last year, as Season 3 ended - when you realized - wow, they get OFF the island! Never in my wildest Lost dreams/theories, etc. did I ever think some, if not all, get off the island!
So let the fun begin.......3 days and counting.....
