Summer vacation

#1 Postby southerngale » Thu May 08, 2008 11:05 am

Any of y'all have vacation plans this summer? I don't have any plans yet... it probably depends on when I sell my house and get into a new one. That's my priority. I am thinking about going to some of those places that are nearby, but I've never visited. I know some people who went to Kemah a few weeks ago and had a lot of fun... this close, and I've never been there.
Those of you in Houston... is Kemah worth a trip from Beaumont to spend the day there?

No summer vacation plans this year. Maybe a few day trips or a weekend trip or two, to geocache around Pennsylvania, but no serious one week vacations this year. I've already postponed the trip to go home to CT because of financial situation and with my wife barely working this year because of how her job is.

No plans here because of money problems. Will probably be in county all summer long.

Going to Disney World sometime in late June with some family. Outside of that I'll be spending my weekends at the beach. 8-)

Yes it is worth the trip. There is fabulous food(Aquarium-expensive, but worth it), fun rides and quite a few shops. There are even quite a few bed and breakfasts nearby if that is to your liking.

We'll probably stay at home...however I had this one dream where a couple of best friends I've met last summer has invited me and my family to go on vacation with them to Galveston Beach. That may or may not happen, but we'll see what happens.

We've rented a house for a week in mid August on Emerald Isle, NC. It's at the narrow part of the island. Front porch overlooks the sound and back deck the ocean.

We may have another get away in July, maybe the mountains - perhaps a state park in southern WV.

Awesome, thanks. I heard about the aquarium restaurant... I'd definitely want to go there! We wouldn't need to spend the night since it's only a few hours away, but it might be fun, and we could do more.

We're visiting some friends in Shreveport (first time in LA), and we may go check out I-95, Jacksonville, Savannah, up through Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, and Cape Hatteras. Then go west from there Nashville, down through Atlanta, and Tallahasse then back home.

Why? Because we never have.

That sounds awesome, I love long road trips and going to different places.

Nuttin big here. Just got screwed by a lawyer over-billing us. Ooops. Most likely, take a week off and hang out at the beach with the family. My wifes relatives are visiting florida in shifts. Most of the time they will NOT be staying at my house. We will probably visit them at the hotel and leave the kids with them. An evening at home alone without the kids will be a treat!

My summer vacation will begin on 30 June, and I'm to serve as volunteers of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games thereafter.

Renting a cabin for a week in July in Ellijay, Ga. Right on the river!
Can't wait, because Florida in July is Dante's long lost 10th level of hell.
