Anyone else buying a ticket?

#1 Postby wx247 » Mon Jul 07, 2003 8:47 am

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- The Powerball fever that swept over the country when the jackpot reached $198 million just got hotter.

Nobody struck it rich Saturday night, so Wednesday's drawing will be worth about $240 million. The numbers drawn Saturday night were 5, 17, 25, 37 and 49, and the Powerball was 21, and Power Play was two.

There are 13 tickets that matched all five numbers but not the Powerball. Those are worth $100,000 apiece. Two of those tickets were purchased in Missouri, and one was picked up in Kansas.

We'll prolly give in and buy one too. Although we'd have a better chance if it wasn't such a big pot !! What the hell would we do w/ $240 million ???? Our families would be rich too ! Share the wealth.... ~K

Nope....I voted against the Georgia lottery in 94'; and have only purchased two tickets since -- and both times I had the worst luck for weeks afterword (both times when the jackpot was over 100 million).

I think God was trying to tell me something about being a hypocrite...so I pledged in 2001 to never buy a lottery ticket again...at least not in a state where I voted against it. :(

FYI, the Powerball Jackpot is now estimated at 250 million dollars ... I have been buying some tickets ... last draw, I did get the Powerball by itself for $6 ... but unfortunately I spent more than that on the 5 draws with power play ... $10 ...

I never play lotto because I've never won anything more than a few bucks. It's like throwing money out the window. I do have to admit, the chance to win $250 million is enticing. I could shop forever! My dreams can come true at last! LOL! Good luck to all of you who are playing. :D
