HRD's Stan Goldenberg on HurricaneTrack News/Talk Thurs Nite

#1 Postby hurricanetrack » Wed May 21, 2008 9:56 pm

Just a heads up to all you S2k'ers that Dr. Stan Goldenberg from NOAA's AOML/HRD will be our guest tomorrow night (Thursday night, May 22) on HurricaneTrack News/Talk. He will brief us on the soon to be released NOAA hurricane outlook due on Thursday morning. Stan is a great scientist and his story of hurricane Andrew has been told over and over on many network shows. His work is part of the annual NOAA outlook and we look forward to his being with us tomorrow night during the program. Jesse and I will interview him and will talk about other hurricane related news and info. Hard to believe we're almost to June 1. Anyhow, hope to have as many of you drop by as you can. With no "Survivor" or "Idol" to compete, we might have listeners in the millions!

Could one of you guys please ask him when the team might issue their final reports/summaries on Hurricanes Edna and Hazel of 1954? I know they've already completed the report/summary of Carol, and I'm just wondering when the other two biggies of '54 are going to get the treatment.

Mike is our co-host and a good friend and colleague. Unfortunately he has been very busy with his job, etc. He is traveling tomorrow for the holiday weekend coming up and cannot join us tonight. Thanks for asking about him, I know he appreciates that. He'll be back with us next week on the 29th for our hurricane season kick-off show.

Stan will be back with us that night as well so if we do not get to the questions mentioned above tonight, we will certainly next week. Thanks!

It is in WMA format embedded within the page OR available to download as an MP3.

Next week is our big pre-season kick off show with lots of guests. Glad people are interested in the show- we enjoy doing it even if 2 people are listening :-)

Cool thanks for that I shall have a listen later this eveing I think. Is next week show going to be extended because of the number of guests or are you just going to squeeze into the time period you've got?

Still stick with 9pm most likely but if all the guests invited indeed respond with a "yes" then we can consider doing the show at 8pm instead.

Here's our invite list:

Jack Beven, Stan Goldenberg, James Lewis, Tony Woodruff, Chris Bennett, Tim Millar

You know some on the list- others perhaps not so much. Tune in to find out who the others are....
