THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
NORTHEASTERN BOULDER COUNTY IN NORTHEAST COLORADO
EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN WELD COUNTY IN NORTHEAST COLORADO

* UNTIL 100 PM MDT

* AT 1223 PM MDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED A TORNADO
4 MILES WEST OF DACONO...OR 24 MILES NORTH OF DENVER. THIS STORM
WAS MOVING NORTH AT 33 MPH

* LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO NIWOT...
DACONO AND LONGMONT.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IF IN MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES...EVACUATE THEM AND GET INSIDE A

Strong cell just east of Boulder, CO now has tornado warning with it. The warning image box prevents me from clearly seeing any TVS. definitely a strong shear with clearly defined red/to green transition, winds moving away and towards radar.

CBS4.Denver.com reports that a witness in Windsor says there is damage to homes and a cemetary.

Yep there is another tornado on the ground, all still pretty early in the afternoon as well, as someone else said this is going to be a very long day!

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...TORNADO WATCH LIKELY

VALID 221829Z - 221930Z

LEADING EDGE OF LARGE SCALE ASCENT IS SPREADING ACROSS THE CNTRL/SRN
HIGH PLAINS AT ROUGHLY 20-25KT...PER LATEST WV IMAGERY. DRYLINE IS
NOW MIXING EWD ACROSS SWRN KS INTO THE ERN TX PANHANDLE WHERE CU
FIELD IS EXPANDING/DEEPENING. LATEST JTN PROFILER CLEARLY SUPPORTS
EJECTING SHORTWAVE WITH BACKING FLOW ABOVE 2KM AND INCREASINGLY
VEERED WINDS WITHIN THE BOUNDARY LAYER. AS TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO
CLIMB ACROSS THE HIGH PLAINS IT APPEARS THERMALS WILL

Also 2.75 inch hail in Windsor, CO as typically accompanies tornados.

Yeah thats sizeable hail, certainly large enough to cause some real damage I'd have thought, yet alone the tornadoes that are about.

Reports put the tornado at 3/4---1 mile wide so yep it was a large tornado, does sound like a high end tornado as well.
