'Lost' season finale should answer questions

THE OCEANIC 6 are scattered all over the island, all over Membata, if viewers are to believe this is the name of the place where Oceanic Flight 815 crashed 101 days ago. The very island Locke (Terry O'Quinn) thinks he wants to move. Can move.

Every member of the elusive group of "Lost" castaways, who we already know will leave the island, is in peril. Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Sayid and baby Aaron are all fighting separately to live, struggling to escape. They are nowhere near the helicopter that can fly them to the freighter in the ocean, the vessel that could save them, if there wasn't a bomb on it.

But how do they leave? When will they separate from the rest of the survivors? What price will they pay?

[cut for length]....

What fans have yet to see is what happened after last season's time-busting revelation that Jack and Kate leave the island in the future but something makes Jack want to return. On Thursday, "Lost" will take viewers to that very moment of Jack's pained "We have to go back!" and move beyond it. It also will disclose "one of the island's greatest secrets," according to Emerson.

"The finale is about the culmination of this idea that a group of people who desperately wanted to get off the island find themselves in the position of defending the island that they've been trying to leave," Cuse said.

[cut for length]....

"The story of the Oceanic 6 is the ultimate break-up story," Lindelof added. "That's what the finale is about -- everybody breaking up. And the show is going to have to proceed from here as to whether or not we're going to get everybody together. Who is still around to get together?"

Sawyer in a news brief said that there will be numerous casualties, and why or why not people were in the Oceanic 6 will be explained.

Hey all - I think I'm taking an internet break, in honor of Lost. Until late Thursday night or Friday morning. I skimmed a few spoilers at TV Guide and then had to stop myself.

I don't want to know anything about the finale!

Not that anyone here is giving out spoilers.......it's just that they're saying it will be a dark episode.......I'm about to cry before even seeing it!

So until it's over, I'm not reading any Lost threads....LOL

Apparently, you’re the only actor on Lost who knows how the series will end. Is it tough keeping it a secret from your cast mates?
Matthew Fox: Yes, it’s true. They understand I can’t talk about it, but sometimes they’ll ask hoping I’ll just blurt it out. Besides, having a secret is fun

Some general information.:

- The Orchid will be seen in the Finale
- They don't say who Abaddon works for but he is not "top of the chain"
- They discuss there favourite characters - CC is Sawyer, Damon's is Jack (He prefers Jack with chest hair).
- We will see Walt again
- The Island will not let Widmore, Ben and Jack die until it's finished with them
- The Island stopped Jack from committing suicide.
- They will be going into radio silence until Comic.Com in July.
- A few more podcasts after Comic-Con will follow before Season 5 starts
- ABC advisory panel have nominated an episode for Emmy consideration

Must be! I always just read the IMDB Lost board.......LOL

Since there were 3 finale endings filmed, ABC was going to air the other 2 this morning. Has anyone seen them yet? I'm recording their 2 hour morning show. For all know they haven't aired yet......

Here's the Friday morning TV Guide Lost blog:

I'm going to say for the record also, I think Jin is alive and living on the island.

Another summary, this one from MSNBC:

I stole this from the Fuselage, b/c they said it better than I could:

Something that caught my eye about the real Bentham, when he died he had his body mummified and put in a case. He called it his Auto-Icon. You can see a picture of it here:

http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/external/atanu/jb.html

Apparently the head of the mummy is made of wax, and between the feet you can see Bentham's real head, which was damaged during the mummification.

So does the mummified corpse of the real Bentham have anything to do with the corpse of Locke AKA Bentham?

from Wikipedia
In 1760 (at the age of 12) his father sent him to The Queen's College, Oxford -[Daniel Faraday's faculty]

Influenced by John Locke, David Hume

As requested in his will, his body was preserved and stored in a wooden cabinet, termed his "Auto-icon". Originally kept by his disciple Dr. Southwood Smith, it was acquired by University College London in 1850. The Auto-icon is kept on public display at the end of the South Cloisters in the main building of the College. For the 100th and 150th anniversaries of the college, the Auto-icon was brought to the meeting of the College Council, where he was listed as "present but not voting". Tradition holds that if the council's vote on any motion is tied, the auto-icon always breaks the tie by voting in favour of the motion.

The Auto-icon has always had a wax head, as Bentham's head was badly damaged in the preservation process. The real head was displayed in the same case for many years, but became the target of repeated student pranks including being stolen on more than one occasion. It is now locked away securely.
