Yet another high wind event here. Tons of trees down, power outages, and our downtown had some roof damage. This is the fifth wind storm to hit my town this year. 1/29, 2/5, 3/15, 5/2 and today. 5/2 wasn't that bad in town and 3/15 (overnight 3/14 actually) was much worse across northern sections of the county (confirmed 90 mph+ winds by NWS) and 2/5 had confirmed (by NWS) 86 mph winds across the town. 1/29 featured a non-thunderstorm wind storm with 50-70 mph winds for several hours that caused extensive damage, including my school.
Well it was an insane season for the area I like to track, which is the southeast and Ohio Valley. Super Tuesday will definitely go down as the most memorable outbreak for me so far. And the deadliest in over two decades. I hope it is well remembered. I'm going to take a break and focus on the tropics until late fall since a summer pattern has set up. So I'll see you guys (in this forum) later!
