Another month has gone by and we're ready to nominate storms and/or weather events for Storm of the Month.

Nargis. It's that simple.

Oh boy. Where to start.

Cyclone Nargis
Typhoon Rammasun
May 1-2 tornado outbreak
Mid-May tornado outbreak sequence
Late-May tornado outbreak sequence

(I think multiple nominations are ok)

We could probably have a storm of the week from May, it was that busy.

Alma, Arthur, Nargis, Parkersburg Tornado, numerous tornado outbreaks, The Chinese quake are my picks.

Its too bad we have to narrow it down to one. I'll vote for Nargis, but May was absolutely insane weather wise. Maybe one of the most active in our lifetimes.

Nargis. No other choice due the magnitude of that system in lives affected.

I can't see how this can be anything other than Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis to be honest.

Alma, Nargis, Rammasun, Arthur, and the tornado outbreaks as well.

And also, I nominate Halong.

But yes, this one is a shoe-in.

There's no sense in even having a poll for this month, it should be obvious that Nargis should be the storm of the month.

Normally, a bunch of storms would be in it, but Nargis was the story.

The problem with this month is if you have a poll, the Atlantic followers who didn't hear of Nargis vote in Alma-Arthur for sure. And let's be frank — there are way more Atlantic-only people here on s2k.

I propose that there be no vote this month in respect of the 78,000 killed in Burma and just confirm that deadly cyclone as the storm of the month.
