But in my novice terms - I think Claudette is history at least for now in the Caribbean. She's not going to become the big bad storm we want - honestly I am glad - let's hope she continues to weaken and goes harmlessly into some land.
Just my two cents this morning.

Tough call Ticka. Claudette showed that potential last night while still under that upper ridge. It tooke me an hour to post a 1 paragraph post at CFHC because I couldn't find the right words to say, "Damn. I don't like that look when I see it down in the Caribbean." But that forward speed slammed the book closed after Chapter 1. I think there's still more to the story, but we're going to have to wait a couple of days to see how it goes.

Sorry just trying to lighten things up with humor..I hope it goes to mexico!!!!ticka1 wrote:Steer it towards HD! He's the one wanting it. I am sitting here at work going over a list of things that have to be done if this one does head this way. I am a woman of lists and there is too much to do and it all costs money - I don't need this one period.

>>Now it's slowing..if this ridge weakens..I am back in the game!!! Will be interesting to see what happens..The models were going by a faster foward speed and west track..now it's moving wnw..it appears...gonna be a long weekend!!
You're dying over there RainBand in NPR! You know it's true, don't deny it. You'll do anything for a piece of Claudette. Can't say I blame you though. Being the recipient of the last 3 landfalling GoM storms, they all look good to me. I'm up to a total of 3 free hurricane days off in the last 10 months. I want AT LEAST another one or two.

....but by no means do I want a storm that will cause damage and such.. I just go by what I read and will wait and see what happens. :? It's a double edged sword for us weather enthusiasts..yes we'd like to see a storm. We just don't want to deal with the problems associated with one. A part of me loves storms and wants to see one..but an even bigger part of me..fears what they are capable of doing..Thats the honest truth!!!

I couldn't agree with you more Steve...exactly how I feel! The power is so fascinating..you can't help but watch..too bad there has to be a down side to it all!

Very well said Rainband! I think that is how the majority of people feel that watches the tropics and weather in general the way that we do here.
Everyone loves the excitement but does not want any damage and for sure we don't want anyone hurt. The thought of being in one of the GREATEST STORMS ON EARTH is in it's self very exciting.
