Loose Change

#1 Postby CajunMama » Fri Jul 04, 2008 12:53 pm

I toss change into an old water jug. My husband and i rolled and counted the coins yesterday. It's not a complete total since we ran out of penny wrappers. Our total so far ... $199.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is going to be some of our gambling $$ when we go to las vegas next month. His 50th bday present from me. We've got tickets for elton john, penn & teller and danny gans. I'm still looking into a grand canyon daytrip with a walk on the skywalk.

Damn! 199.50, that's mad. I saved up 65+ in a few months, but that was without any pennies, only 5p coins (Basically nickels) or higher .

My wife emptied her purse today and she filled a small pickle jar with change. Must have weighed 5 pounds. Her purse is much lighter now. :ggreen:

Haha tstorm...my purse has been weighted down before with change. I would just toss it in my purse instead of my wallet.

I have a 5 gallon water jug I put all my spare change in. I clean it out once a year and get anywhere between $200 and $400 out of it each time.

That is how my daughter and her husband paid for most of their honeymoon.

I too toss in loose change in a jar. Whatever filled the top, I just took it to the bank and add it to my savings account.

One year my sister & brother in law decided just to save dimes for one year, so they got a wine bottle and it was pretty big-at the end of the year they had about $700.00 in dimes and they used it for vacation! I have to do that again, dimes are smaller and they add up faster:)

Awesome mama!!! We do that too. We roll it up every year and take it on vacation.
Last time we got $260. We always get at least $200. Its great to take that money and do something fun with it.
Hopefully you can turn that $199 into a few hundred more.

I apologize to everyone else for following this lead off-topic, but here goes:

"Loose Change" is nothing but the ridiculous fantasy of anti-American zealots who are ignorant of physics, metallurgy, and aircraft identification, to say the least.

Maddox's satirical spoof "Unfastened Coins" pretty much says it all.

:uarrow: Of course the problem is, the people who believe that stuff would say you were a government shill.
