Yes it does but so does a lot of waves that come off Africa and then go POOF! It will probably lose its convection soon, but you never know.

The key is how it reacts once it is over water for a while. Dry air is definitely a factor with this system. It is a wait and see approach.

I will give it two days... let's see if it can mantain it's integrity over the water. The last's tropical waves have'nt been so lucky overthere.

Two days and then we'll talk about it again!
