Recon Flying Now?

#1 Postby Guest » Thu Jul 10, 2003 9:08 am

Latest observations ??? Any vortex message? No one is posting anything - are they in shock over what they see this morning?

How far is she from the Yucatan pensula? Where will she make landfall approximately - so many questions and not enough answers.

Will generally always be difficult to pinpoint even a widespread landfall with a system moving into the Gulf of Mexico, slowing down and changing direction.

Ticka, I think you hit it in the head! We are all just in shock! :o She has surprised us all I think! I know there weren't many people who even thought she would hit cane strength before crossing the Yucatan, she is absolutely unbelievable to me at this point and I am watching with my chin on the ground. I am getting very apprehensive about this season and I have never been that way b4, I will certainly not be so shocked by whatever happens next........Once she gets in the GOM, it really is anyones GUESS because we have all been wrong so far..........hmmmm :?:

Just Claudette getting into the gulf has me nervous. It seems like we have some sort of magnet here in Louisiana now, but hopefully she will just go into Mexico once in the gulf.
