intense cold cloud tops in the center are forming again. On the last visible it seemed the center might be trying to finally clear out as well.

Maybe its just me, but looks like Bertha is drifting E/SE over the last few frames...

It is not just you, I see it clearly., Bertha appears to be moving east-southeastward.

What is the steering flow for a system of this type that Bertha is right now? Perhaps the layer it is in is towards the ESE?

Steering currents are really weak at the moment. I can see why she's drifting south though.

I think the big question is:

Is she weak enough to squeeze W or strong enough to shoot E

Wow, Bertha will make a pretty large loop if she follows the NHC's track.

Looks like a ridge is forming north of the cyclone by the "upper level" clouds turning southward. Also this is pushing the cyclone slowly southward or southeastward. The longer it takes to start moving north, if the models is to be believed, the better the chance of a east or even a southeast track will become.

We will have to watch this. It is now tied with hurricane Dean for the most Advisories of 2007. If it makes one more in it will, this will be the most since Helene 2006. Seriously if it makes the loop I will place this close to Alberto, hear that Wxman57, because you brought it up that you don't want that. But guest what it may of heard you.

I think also it will be down graded to a tropical storm next Adivistory.

Navy wam indicated a north movenent for 2 days followed by a south then south east solution out to 165 hours. Whereever she heads, we are reaping the benefits of Berthas swell and a solid offshore wind.
