New Digital Camera

#1 Postby mf_dolphin » Tue Jul 15, 2008 8:40 am

Well folks I've finally switched over to the digital age. I just ordered a new Pentax K20D 14.6 Mega-pixel digital SLR. I've alwyas been a 35mm bigot but finally I've found a digital I like :-) It also helps that the Pentax lenses I have for my 35mm work on the new camera. We're taking an Alaska tour/cruise the end of August so I'm betting it's going to get a good workout soon!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice camera. I'm jealous! You're lucky to be able to continue to using your lenses. Enjoy your cruise and we'll be waiting for pics.

The K20 is weatherproof (aka very resistant; it can't be dunked in a bathtub). It might have certain... advantages, for those hobbies that a great deal of us here at S2K enjoy. :D

Have fun in Alaska!

Pentax just changed over to a CMOS sensor and the camera is getting pretty good reviews. It won't be here until Friday but I can't wait to get my hands on it :-) I also order this new toy:

It should be a lot easier than taking a laptop along on the cruise :-)

Not a bad camera at all. Post pics when you get back.

Portable hard drives are the thing to get if you can't fit in a laptop (or if your battery runs out and there's no way to get it recharged). My uncle took one to Africa so he could get in a few more things in his bag.

Earlier this year, I too switched over to Digital by purchasing an Argus DC-3185 camera.

We went on an Alaska cruise in Aug 06. Make sure you bring a bunch of memory cards. We took a zillion pictures. Alaska is an incredible trip. Have a great time......MGC
