Definitely, I think this is the best it has looked.
Still wondering about interaction with 95L though.

this could be the burst that pushes it over the top enough to satisfy the NHC to clasify it.

Seems to me once it gets just a bit futher west where it doesn't have such a large land mass to the south of it is where it would have better room to intensify.
Am I right does the proximity of land just south of it having a negative effect on it too due to the lack of open water?

something is going on in 94L right now...no question about it. This is not its usual pops of light reds it does every night. This is concentrated very deep persistent consistent convection over the last 12+ hours. Tonight could put it over the top.

Is it just me, or does it appear that it is trying to establish an outflow in the NW Quad?

I'm getting more nervous now about heading to Cancun tomorrow. Earlier today it seemed like things should be ok, but based on the last few hours of posts, it seems to be the general idea that this thing will indeed develop.
Not good at all!! Do I have reason to be concerned about being in Cancun tomorrow night??

holy poop I think you are right. Its definitely not just a few Dmax effects, this is some bona-fide development going on. How much it will develop, and whether it will maintain is the big question. I have a bad gut feeling about it though. not sure what that means.

Getting stuck in Cancun is not a good thing. You might go ahead and go,but keep a close eye on it while there and leave early if it's headed your way.

Yeah, we had margaRITA's and hurricanes during Rita. The good news is, you'll have two days or so to enjoy your vacation. At the very least, it'll more than likely be squally there. IF a hurricane does affect that area, those buildings are well fortified. You'd probably be safe. It's dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. If you don't go, it'll dissipate or go south or way north of there. If you do go, it'll slam you. You know what I mean?
