Raine, excellent news!

Back from our overnight camp...temps surprised us and were cool, we didn't even turn on the a/c, but slept with the windows opened! In July. In Louisiana. Amazing!

One misshap tho...while we were swimming at the lake, a squirrel "chewed" his way into the camper, wreaked holy havock on the place, and left behind little pellet sized "gifts" for us. All for a loaf of stale white bread...he never touched the wheat....so, we now have a nice sized hole in our screening and plastic window in the camper...ugh!

And I said camping was for the birds????

So Shannon, did you take those little "gifts" from the squirrel and cook them over the campfire with your marshmallows? Temps sound great, even if the "Squmores" didn't taste quite the same.

When you start getting some years behind you, there is a story to follow every story.

We had a ground squirrel in the yard here in Scottsdale. Water wouldn't make him move. Neither would covering his exit with big rocks or putting mothballs down his nest.

So..I thought I'd try to smoke him out with one of those nasty sulfur smokebombs! Well, I followed directions, lit it, dropped it into his nest, and then quickly covered up the hole with a rock. Within three minutes I could see AND smell that nasty stuff coming up from exits in the neighbor's yard! Nasty smelling stuff.

I took the rock off hoping it would all come back my way..but did not. Luckily, my neighbor was not at home and the incident all took place without anyone noticing...including the squirrel. He was back in the same spot for breakfast the very next morning.

AWESOME NEWS TONIGHT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

OK maybe I am a bit giddy. But seriously I am extremely happy right now. Here's why. First off I found out yesterday that two awesome things will be happening to me. First is that I will be getting more hours at work starting Monday - 25 hours a week versus 20. :D :D :D :D :D Second is that I will be getting less staffing, also starting Monday. :D :D :D :D :D This is another step towards independence for me. :D :D :D :D :D YAY!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Even before that it had been an awesome week at work for me. :D :D :D :D :D I seriously am on cloud nine right now (except for that $%^&*( refrigerator  ).

The weather here is nice and warm except for the #$%^&*( low clouds that are keeping us from really heating up like we could.

Have a bodacious Friday everyone. Joshua

Good Afternoon,

Yet another day of record breaking heat here in the Brown White Mountains......sitting at 92° at 1203 MST with no sign of the monsoons starting anytime soon......all I can do is sit and wait for autumn, maybe by then the heat wave will have broke.

"LOL!" You guys and your squirrel stories, when I first read the posts on the furry lil guys, my mind wondered to the Geico commercial with the squirrel chasing the car off the road, smart lil guys they are, hungery too LOL!

Off to watch a movie or 2, too blasted for ol snowman to be outside again today.......

It was another warm day here. :D That made me happy. The high was 77 degrees. :)

Morning everyone from the Stormy Front Porch! :o

It has been very busy here with severe weather since yesterday evening. We have lost power briefly several times due to intense lightning.

Other than that, it seems like the week has went well and for that we can be thankful.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! :D

Good morning! I thought I would drop by the Porch and
leave a few boxes of KK's, in case you're hungry! :D

Garrett, be careful, buddy! I see where you're getting
all of the storms - boy, your green beans really gonna
go, now!

I've gotta get out and get some yard work done, this
morning, while I have the chance.

Have a good and safe Saturday, wxbuddies!

Hey everyone!

Been watching Miss Claudy and have neglected my fellow porchers! I am sorry~

Went to watch the Blue Angels today! Was AWESOME as usual! Of course, we see them more than most and we are fairly spoiled! I took a break from the tropics today, needed it bad!

Hey Garrett, does the library need more books? I have 2 or 3 more boxes if they do! Let me know!

Hey Dennis, how did the situation with your pastor ever turn out? I have been meaning to call you and ask but seem to run out of time before I get everything done.

Steve, HI BUDDY!

I am going to go watch Trading Spaces now and work on relaxing some, plenty of work to keep me busy tomorrow!

TaTa for now...............

Hey Karan.....shrink your avatar would ya........I can't read all the way across the page "LOL!" J/K

Howdy everyone........well, things are back to normal, I had the day from "HELL" yesterday, pardon the French! Everything I did, everything I touched, turned to doo-doo, I had the opposite of the King Midas Touch, I had the *Roto Rooter* touch "LOL!"

ANYWAYS......Sandi, I honestly don't know, we've missed church for 2 Sundays in a row *as a bolt of lightning hits near by*......I haven't heard a word, we're going tomorrow, I'll let ya know. We VERY, VERY seldom miss church, we had commitments that we HAD to attend to.

God.......this weather REALLY SUCKS! It's HOTTER than Hades, drier than a bone, where oh where is our RAIN??????

*sigh*, that's all for now, until tomorrow morning, "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You, I'll leave the light on!"

Good Morning!

At least I think it is  the coffee hasn't kicked in just yet!

Another day of record heat about to dawn, it's just now getting daylight and I'm sitting at 68°, another record maximum minimum  I swore up and down that I wouldn't complain about the heat a few months back........well, I'll take that back, for us mountain folks, "It's HOT!" My kingdom for rain, a cloud, .01" of rain, a TRACE of rain........I don't care! There, that's better

Not much on the schedule for today, going to His house in a few hours then a bucket O' balls at the driving range later this evening, after the sun gets off the course. That's nuff outta me........make it a GRAET day would ya, BTW..........Karan and crew, let's hit the Rain Dance pretty hard and don't forget to close the blinds "LOL!" Just kidding!

Ok, ok, but, but, but those roses were sooooooo beautiful. I got rid of them. Shoot!!!!!! Those pictures shouldn't be there if ya can't use them. Way toooooo tempting for me.

Good morning all. I brought some KK's for all. The chocolate covered ones are for David. I haven't seen him around lately and I thought I'd tempt him to the porch.

Dennis, I'm going to shut my blinds and jiggle, jiggle, jiggle, bump and grind ----- Oops, ouch!!!!! Darn near put my back out doin that rain dance. Is it working yet????? No, ok - giggle, giggle, giggle, bump and griiiinnnnnnnd. How about now? Well, I'll keep tryin. Maybe Raine and Miss Mary will help out if I put a pot of Earl Grey on to entice them.

Well, I have to do some gardening today. Yesterday was spent relaxing and cooking. Had Craig's mom over for dinner and it turned out yummy. Sooooo, today it's work day. When the weeds are taller than the perennials - it's time!!!!!!

Gulfbreezer, I love Trading Spaces and While You Were Out is pretty good too. I always get great ideas that end up costing me too much money. I end up broke and tired!!!! But it's fun.

Well I better get busy here. Have a great day.

Dennis...our morning low was 85 here! Brutal afternoons for many, but they are still out and about in droves. How well I remember having to change a tire about this time last year at 4 pm in the afternoon on the freeway. That tire was SO HOT!!! I nearly jumped in the pool with my work clothes on when I got home that day. Expecting around 111 here in my backyard again today. Pool water is GREAT, though. God bless the previous owners for putting in a Shasta!

Trading Spaces would be very scary for the two of us. We are so darn conservative when it comes to decorating. Just sueded a wall in the kitchen and added some accent lighting...and that was a dramatic shift from all the neutral colors we have. Still...you are right Karan that it is fun to watch for ideas. Sandi...do you ever try to implement the ideas they come up with?

So far Dennis, looks like the watershed from Payson to Show Low and then south toward Tucson has had some rainfall relief...all between you and me. I see the Weekly Planner has you firing up a little at times so don't give up on the monsoon possibilities just yet. Nature has a way of getting even. If you are dry now...you will sometime be hoping for a dry spell!

Have a nice Sunday everyone...

Steve, I did the distressed leather faux finish on the walls of my office here at home. Really is relaxing. I bet the suede looks great.

Morning everyone! :D

Another morning... more storms in the area, but it looks like these will go South and West of me thank goodness. I don't need the lawn to grow any faster than it already is. ;)

I like the concept of Trading Spaces better than While You Were Out. I am not sure why, but I think it is because you are a willing party to what is going on, you know the risks, etc. I am pretty conservative in the way I like my room to look and if I went on a trip and came back with a new room, backyard, etc. that I didn't like or want I would be more unhappy than if I agreed to it and I didn't like it! :D

Hope all ya'll get the monsoon rain you need soon.

had to change a tire near Yuma when it was 118F-my son who was with me drank the whole gallon of water in the cab of the Truck while I was doing so leaving none for me. Fortunately it wasn't too far out of Yuma and I replenished there.

Garrett, I sent out some books around the 4th of July....you should be getting them shortly (if you haven't received them yet).

I can't believe its Sunday already....time flies when your having fun! :D A little 'harmless' fun....is the easiest way to describe it. (dinner and then a good handful of billiards afterwards...it was a fun night!) A couple of Kevin's golfing buddies came up, so we had dinner with them and then shot pool afterwards. I mentioned my dad's name to my Kevin's dad and low and behold...they know each other....they bowled on the same team for plenty of years! He started telling stories about my dad...and I'm like...yup, you really know him! :o :o I'll have to mention Kevin's dad to my dad....I'm sure the memories will start flying out!!! The first thing Kevin's dad asked was if I was a lefty (my dad is a lefty) ....I was like....bowling is right handed, but I do plenty of other things left handed like eating.....I'm extremely ambidextrous. :o

Trading Spaces is awesome! I love that show!!! (when I have TLC on the Cable Channels). Oh my....who doesn't love Ty! He's a cutie! (I may be in a relationship right now, but a girl can still dream ;))

I moved out of my Marquette University apartment on Friday....oh my goodness, those carts were hard to push! Marquette has bins that you can put your belongings in that way you don't have to make millions of small trips..........thank goodness I'm pretty strong....my mom had a hard time pushing the bin when it was full! =====>

You are probably wondering if the High Altitude Balloon was done....no its not, but I'm really busy with work at Neenah-Menasha YMCA all week long, so it was better idea for me to move back home then driving 2 hours one way to Milwaukee and then another 2 hours back home. All we have to do is put the Electronics together and then its launch time (we're getting pretty close to launching the balloon.) Hopefully, by the end of the month, we will be able to launch the balloon. We are having one of the Milwaukee media channels come in on Tuesday for interviews and pictures.....that is the only day that I can come down to Milwaukee....so we are scheduling it that day when all 6 of us are around. NASA has been watching us closely, because this will be the inaugural launch by a Space Grant team in Wisconsin!!! :D :ggreen: When I say I am working with NASA people are amazed!!! They are like....how did you land that job???? (it helps to have the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium right on UWGB's campus!) :D :D :ggreen:

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.....don't fry to much (AZ buddies!)
