THE DARK KNIGHT: 94% in Rotten Tomatoes
Very good movie. Action, romance, comedy, and more. I you like the genere, you will really like this movie. The Joker is one of the best characters in the movie. What a loss to the movie industry for Heath Ledger to die. Great performance.

The 94 matters less than the fact that it got an average rating of 8.5/10, which is achieved only by very, very good films on average about 4 max times a year (Wall-E got an 8.6/10, and The Departed only got an 8.3/10). I'm seeing it tonight at 7:20, and I'm expecting something slightly worse than The Departed (because I fail to see how TDK could be better).
Although I probably don't have to tell anyone, it's widely regarded as pretty much the best comic-adapted movie ever by a very large margin.

Re: THE DARK KNIGHT: 94% in Rotten Tomatoes
From what I hear it is breaking all sorts of records for attendance. I know here in Houston at one or our Edwards Marquis complexs(I don't know how many screens it was showing on)the parking lot for the entire center including a 4 story parking garage was full at 7am in the morning. My son-in-law manages a Red Robin in the complex and they had a law firm call in reservations for 35 so they could all eat and then go to the movie. CRAZY!!!!

It's reported that it made over $155.0 million this weekend.
My son in law and his wife went to see it and said that it was the best Batman. Heath Ledger they said should be nominated.

Box office
The Dark Knight opened on July 16, 2008 in Australia and July 18, 2008 in the United States and Canada with midnight screenings in 3,040 theaters. From the first midnight screenings, the film has earned $18.5 million and has set a new midnight debut record beating Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith which earned $16.9 million. On its opening day, July 18, 2008, The Dark Knight set a single-day box office record of $67.85 million, breaking a record of $59.8 million previously held by Spider-Man 3. The film also surpassed the $151.1 million opening weekend record of Spider-Man 3 with an estimated opening of $155.34 million, including a record breaking IMAX opening of $6.2 million, surpassing the $4.7 million of Spider-Man 3.
CinemaScore reports that audiences have graded the film "a solid A" with demographics skewed slightly male and older.

Something else that I liked about this movie was that it wasn't incredible long, just 2 hours and 30 minutes. In Spiderman 2 I fell sleep, seriously. The same happened in Fantastic Four, but for a different reason, I didn't like it. I'm not a fan of the comic books but this movie really surpassed that and kept me entertain throughout the entire film. It was interesting that at the middle of the movie you get the feeling that everything has been solved but then you realize that that was the plan all along and a lot more was to come. It's a movie that redefines its genera. Ledger should win an Academy Award and an Oscar. What a performance! He was the bad guy but you couldn't feel anger for his actions. I'm out of words.

Ledger's performance was just outstanding. Batman could have died 15 minutes in and the rest of the movie could have just been Joker blowing up the city, and I would have still loved it.

I saw it today. It surpasses the hype. By far the best Batman film I've seen. The acting was incredible. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to cancel your plans and go see it. It is just that good.

I have to admit this isn't really my kind of movie but we went Sunday night and I loved it! Heath Ledger was outstanding as The Joker, there is no other way to put it. I'd see this movie again, in fact I'll probably but it when it comes out on DVD
