NHC will nail the landfall time.
I posted a warning a few minutes ago.

Sure. It's the second set of numbers in each of the readings. Taking KCRP, 04017G24KT = 17 kts, gusting to 24 kts, from 040 degrees. 1 kt = 1.151 mph.

Re: ATL: H Dolly in Western Gulf of Mexico
I'm sorry if I upset everybody, but I am one of those that would rather expect the worse and get the best than expect the best and get the worst. So I will always be the one that will go with the worse case scenario. If you don't like what I have to say either ignore what I say and don't respond or send me a PM. I'm 31 years old and can handle some criticism but it should not be on the threads itself.

Yeah we all have her figured out pretty well. I think the NHC had her making landfall
at midday. That is obviously not going to be the case per the radar loop below.

It WILL be midday when this hits....
Are we talking about Eastern or Central time? Either way I think Midday means 12 noon in my book and it won't be making landfall in 25 minutes.

Yep.. I was thinking about the same thing. What I was also wondering if its first landfall near South Padre Island will prohibit intensification until it makes its second landfall.

Based on Dolly's projected path, the US Census Bureau said that about 1.5 million Texans could feel the storm's effects.
Cari Lambrecht, a spokesman for Hidalgo County, Texas, said that shelters holding about 400 people were open.
She said they were encouraging people in low-lying areas to use the shelters.
"It's so much easier for them to go now instead of us having to pull them out later," she said.
Texas Governor Rick Perry has called up 1,200 National Guard members to help in any emergency caused by the hurricane.
In Mexico, Governor Eugenio Hernandez of the state of Tamaulipas, said officials planned to evacuate 23,000 people to government shelters in Matamoros, Soto La Marina and San Fernando.

Probably not a big enough land mass to cause an disruption to the storm prior to the "mainland".

I think she is "finally" going to make landfall.
