BEIJING - Some International Olympic Committee officials cut a deal to let China block sensitive Web sites despite promises of unrestricted access, a senior IOC official admitted on Wednesday.
....

I wish the IOC wouldn't have backed down on this. Its going to be tough for some reporters. Would not want to have their job.

Every day I find more amusement in the fact that the IOC is going to get burned for picking China, which they did primarily to "stick it" to the US.

The IOC selected China to host the 2008 olympics in a move to embarrass the US. It came after so many felt that the 1996 games in Atlanta were too commercialized.
