a little, but according to the forecast, it appears to be expected. I still say landfall in about 36 hours.

To me, it looks like the center is racing ahead of the convection. Of course, I'm still new to this so I might be wrong.

Maybe not a wobble, looks to be going slightly south of due west?

Yes, might actually be worse for Galveston than a direct landfall if just the northern eyewall hits (assuming it's a hurricane by landfall)

That would make Edouard the worst looking 105mph storm in History!

me too![/quote]

I believe that number is a placeholder until they get closer to the center. That's why the pressure is being recorded as 999.

It is bs because the recon is not even inside of the area you would expect to find the highest winds. Also 999 millibars is not supportive to a 90 knot flight level winds.

Also recon is not even there and this storm would look like "crap" if it was that strong of a storm.

that's my guess. anyway for those who want to know, recon's lowest pressure so far is 1009mb, but that was a good bit away from the coc.

Well, maybe, but that's a hell of a choice for a placeholder if so.

I could buy a WSW motion if it's trying to consolidate under the stronger convection.

I just took my "good night pill"... I'm going to get some good sleep in, I have had a busy day, and who knows when I'll be able to sleep again. Night all. Keep a good eye on the storm so it can't get away with anything sneaky!

I think we are all looking at way too many satellite and radar loops.

hmm... you can really start to see Ed wind up in this imaging...

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t2/loop-ir2.html

granted, the west side isn't too impressive but you can see the start of a tightening circulation and the CDO just starting to wrap... at least that's my view
