I think the ULL right on its SW is too close and is gut punching it with dry air which is usually toast for a cyclone in this situation as far as intensity.

Right, I meant 28.7N - pretty close to where it is now.

Why is there nothing on the south? Is that where the radar range ends or is this storm really that sad looking on radar?

29.7N is where it was forecast to be right now as of last night's forecast. Basically the system is south of where it was supposed to be right now based on the forecast from 24 hours ago.
Yeah, sorry about that. The post I made was inaccurate. It was actually closer to 28.6-28.7N, meaning the NHC's 24 hour track has been quite good.

Banding appears to be intensifying to the North along the LA coast.

Once again, for everyone that doesn't like my forecast, go ahead and skip this post. Everyone should know by now I am the one that is all doom and gloom. Since I have been on here I have learned a lot, but I also understand Mother Nature, and you can never play games and try to guess everything she does.

This is what I am thinking looking at the radar and satellites, Edouard will be making landfall in abut 12 hours as a Cat 1 hurricane around Creole, La. So I will most likely be driving through the worse part of his stuff in the morning around 6 am my time, coming from Crowley going to Abbeville.

Once again, this is my opinion, and if you don't like that is fine, but I know some people think the same way as me, but I am not afraid to say it here.

I'm guessing just a gut feeling huh?

I just don't know what to make of this satellite loop. It almost seems like he is headed for the LA.

maybe when the ULL passes to the south, it will pick up some moisture from the south like Dolly did.

Not gonna happen. RECON found 61kt FL winds a few hours ago.

Local met just mentioned on television that Edouard is reforming his center and it is a bit farther north and that we may have a bit more of Edouard to deal with than previously stated. Hmmm, as sunset, the clouds were all "ribbed" shaped and pointing to the general direction of Ed. Interesting sight, sorry, I didn't get a pic of it.

It looks pretty obvious in this loop that "may" be happening.

thats a pretty heavy band developing there.. hmmm... i have seen wierder.. i guess

first thing that comes to my was humberto last year when the southern side was dry as a bone but the northern side was very intense..

although im going to hold off on my normal short term analysis since my last one was pretty much a no go with that center reformation deal! :) to see if some convection returns to the south side..

On one hand I see an eye trying to form, on the other the crappy south side sure isn't helping its progress.

What are you? Crazy? Not saying I don't agree with you that the real season doesn't begin for a couple more weeks, but making it sound like you want to see a Major Hurricane? Yes I know I am one of the first to say that this one or that one will blow up to a Major, but ever since I have started that, it seems that none of them have. So I will continue to say that they will go major until they make landfall. I personally do not want to see another major make landfall in Louisiana, 3 years later and many businesses and building are not even started to get worked on. The hotel that I am about to start running in Intracoastal City, La. has been out of business for the 3 years since Rita came through, will have to be completely gutted and redone. So no I don't want to see another Major Hurricane come through. Now for a Major to form and just go fishing that is a different story. One last question Hwego7, where are you from?

Now check this radar loop out.
It makes you wonder what in the world is going on here.
