You are absolutely right. The real center is that tiny notch on the SW side of everyone's massive "eye". But wow, the radar presentation looks better with each frame. I wouldnt be surprised by a 70mph ts by morning, but Im not sure...this has been quite erratic, much like dolly.

I'm glad I've been proven right, but I'm just upset that now everyone thinks I'm the one who was denying it :P

I don't think that's the lowest pressure though. Surface winds should have been under 10 knots if they were. They were 20 knots at the surface, so it looks like they might have missed the center. Nevertheless, 997.5 is impressive.

Not sure where it is seeing it, by the color code best I can see is 36 to 50 knots, onshore in Vermillion Parish, but 0.5º tilt LCH radar, per my AccuWx PPV page, insists there are 95 knot winds out there somewhere.

I think the High Island / Bolivar peninsula predictions in here are looking pretty solid. I know it doesn't really matter that much as far as who will feel the ultimate effects of the storm. What may matter most is whether or not the rain bands wrap around more before morning or not. I made the comment earlier about the Pro mets sleeping, just because I didn't see many around here right now; but I know they are actively doing things and watching this all resolve. Looks like 1pm tomorrow was definately a late prediction though, and if TWC is saying TX/LA border like some said that is one of the biggest deviations I've seen them make from NHC in recent history. Should be interesting tomorrow. Heck, I'd gone this weekend to play golf (disc golf that is) thinking that I had a week or two before the tropics would produce anything interesting... So for those that think this is frustrating, you should have followed Dolly/94L for two weeks straight.

Also of note, Temperature differential between the center and bands is 6C, pressure is likely lower than 997 as well, maybe as low as 995 due to 20kt surface winds with the 997 ob. All in all evidence is there for a deepening storm.

lol I wasnt agreeing that u were the one denying it, i was agreeing that the massive void area wasnt the center. Im not sure where high island is, but i assume its near galveston bay.

Well I think Vermillion Parish got a little more than what was earlier expected.

very impressive and winds will take some time to catch up given the recent radar trends of organization..

It's sorta at the northeastern edge of Galveston Bay, if that makes any sense.

5 mb in about 12 hours, isn't it. It was 1002-ish around lunch. That isn't all that impressive. Still, if it can stay offshore 12 more hours and lose 5 more mb, it'd be getting into minimal hurricane territory, pressure wise, although whether winds were there depend on more than just minimum pressure, of course.

If this storm comes in at the right angle it may buy some extra time over Galveston Bay

Hey, I must admit, I didn't believe the VOID was the center, but I did think it was more due S of the void, so at this point it's just nice to have the data and to be able to follow a real center. Hopefully it won't try and teleport the center once again.

Yeah I thought the pressure would be a little lower, but it might be still because they might have missed it.

And surely 48 kts aren't the highest winds? This storm looks way better than 45-50 mph.

You almost never find the highest winds in the first pass. Let them sample the entire storm.

NVM I guess they aren't the highest winds since they're still looking and just found 49 kts.

well based on radar, it looks like the western half of a small eyewall has formed, with rain wrapping around the system. This continues to look better
