Looks like the NHC should nail another one. Looks like Mr. Ed is running out of time to strengthen too much more. He should make it to minimum cane status. It also looks like Ed will make landfall earlier than expected. Anyone agree???

Texas gets more 'canes that Florida now.
I don't see a Cat 2 by any means (but IMHO i think Ed gets over the hump for a Cat 1)...Rig SE of Sabine Pass now getting winds of 65 (edit: gusts).

My totally unofficial call is for a High Island landfall about an hour or two after dawn with max sustained winds of 80 mph.
Lot of marsh on the backside of Bolivar Pen. and Galveston Island - wonder if an offshore flow through Houston Ship Channel and Galveston Bay could do any minor flooding there?

I'll try to read up before the power goes.
yea conditions should start deteriorating very soon and last through the morning hours.. Greg puts landfall around 6 a.m. somewhere between High Island and Sabine Pass...

Most of these radar/loops (other than TV, accuwx, and a few more) aren't conducive to Mac I-books!

Re: ATL: Tropical Storm Edouard - Gulf of Mexico
On second thought, maybe it will be closer to Crystal Beach. After watching IR sat loop and latest radar from Lake Charles, it really does appear to have taken a westward jog recently. Unless I'm off, it looks like it is heading for the pass between Galveston Island and Bolivar Pen. Of course, maybe I'm wrong and if not, maybe this motion is just temporary.

Although I wondered earlier tonight, it's looking more and more like a Tx landfall.
If this makes it to Cat 1, that's two landfalling hurricanes in Tx in less than a month.
Wonder when the last time that happened is - off the top of my head, I can't remember.

Re: ATL: Tropical Storm Edouard - Gulf of Mexico
I remember someone posting on here just last week stating when Texas gets hit with a Hurricane in July, historically they are done for the rest of the season.

I know infrared pics are not the greatest to look at here, but if you look at it you can see the convection moving pretty good west. Wouldn't the storm follow?
