Greg, you had said last night that we could get 3-5 inches from this. Is it safe to say we are now on target to get more? Because it sounds like I've just gotten 2 inches in the last 15 minutes!

Looks like last VDM I seen has 68kts in Northern Quad....85% reduction right? IF so, that would be about 60kts at SFC.

They had mentioned that in 5am advisory. They only increased the winds to 65mph.

Could be a little higher in a few spots. However, I do not expect any significant flooding.

Not to mention, once again, we have a strengthening system upon landfall in texas. If this does come in as a verified cane, I think the NHC just will have been caught with there pants down.

The argument Jack Bevin (NHC forecaster) keeps making that there's virtually no difference between a strong TS and a hurricane seems to me to be a good one FOR putting out a hurricane warning. I think they have decided they don't want to make it a hurricane at landfall for some reason and they're sticking to it.

Personally I think Ed looks less organized in the last couple of frames or so. The deep reds west of the center look intense though.

Ya, I dunno...lol Its the same argument you have about the TD in the gom vs ATL. I just can't understand why they never put some up. I just think I am suprised a bit thats all.

Well, I'll be surprised if power stays on for any length of time. Wind is getting pretty gusty now. So far, so good though. :D

Yeah, I'm not lookin forward to that. No generator, no a/c... but worst of all, NO INTERNET! I'm gonna be lost. We were without for over three days last year with Humberto. Thank goodness for battery operated fans.

- The rain is coming and going here. Kinda weird though... A wall that normally only vibrates when my neighbor's stereo is up too loud is vibrating and making all kinds of annoying noises for nothing.

That's what I was just looking at. I agree, it seems to be set to landfall more easterly than they thought.

Not to far off though. High pass is the place that it will most likely make landfall.

Yep recon does suggest its been tracking probably only a little south of NW. Also should bring landfall foward somewhat as well.

I noticed there have not been many tornado warnings in Louisiana and some of the worst weather has been on the north side of Ed. That is some good news.
