Local reporter just reported 50mph sustained in Cameron Parish, gusting to 60mph with lot of power outages.

I don't post often but for all those just yesterday and throughout the night who were downright rude about this definitely NOT even possibly being a LA landfall you need to realize that Mother Nature and the Gulf of Mexico doesn't play by your rules. Many of us have lived here all of our lives and it is very common for storms to take that "right" jog for some reason. I respect others opinions but some were downright abrasive. Rant over.
I guess if this was going to be a LA system I'll take Ed and pray that this is the worst will see in 08.
NHC kept saying a TX/LA impact was possible and kept us in the cone the entire time so I feel they did a fairly good job.

Yeah, looks like it peaked out with maximum sustained winds near 70mph. They just found 59kt to 62kt winds from the SMFR, occuring the thunderstorms in SW Quad.

Stay safe Jagno. The NHC did a great job with the cone but also with the watch and warnings.

Re: ATL: Tropical Storm Edouard - Gulf of Mexico
anybody want to monitor the power outages as well when its expected to be restored:

I don't see where it says when it'll be restored, but the news channel reported that you can find it on there :s
I was getting some pretty good gust earlier here in N. BMT but most of that has died down for now.

I did say that I would be very surprised if it even made it as far west as Sabine Pass, but it definitely was farther east than I thought... looks like from the latest radar that the center of circulation is splitting the border and going right up sabine lake...

Wow, our local met has no clue that this system is coming ashore. I'm always shocked that a couple of our KPLC mets really came out of met school. Our electricity is still spotty with alot of blinking going on. Starting to feel like a disco. LOL
Nederlander; just as Rita did it seems. Okay, so we like sharing with our neighbors.

Do we expect this thing to get worse for Beaumont as far as wind/rain as this thing makes it's track wnw. Has not done much here in Lumberton. I have seen stronger afternoon thunder showers.
