Re: Who Will Watch The Olympics?
I look forward to it. Makes the doldrums of summer more interesting.

Will watch what I always do: the nations marching in. Won't be watching the rest, probably will just follow it online unless Singapore even threatens for a medal. We haven't won one since 1960 but Sports Illustrated's pre-Games prediction had us winning silver in the women's team table tennis... one can only hope...

I have no plans to watch the Olympics this year. They havent really got my interest this year for some reason. First time I've probably said that. Probably won't watch any because when they do show stuff live, I'll be at work..and the stuff they show at night will be tape delayed and you can get all of the results over the Internet.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but curling is a Winter Olympic sport.

I understand this point, but I find it quite strange that people are protesting a sports meet designed to bring the world together because it's being held in a specific country.

To be fair, I'm refusing to support it not just because it's held in China (though IMHO that was a stupid decision by the IOC) but because China has broken nearly every promise they made regarding civil rights in order to win the Olympic bid.

i'll be watching it, hope that the US basket ball team will try to keep a gold medal in spite of his deceiving perfs of the last Olympics Games
. Will they be able to adapt their game to the European monsters?( Greece, Spain), time will tell but this team is not good as the dream team of Magic, Drexler, Malone, Jordan, Pippen , Bird, Miller, Ewing, Stockton, Ritchmond....they were monsters collectively
!
Whereas , i hopet the very best for this team with theirs new talents ( Wade, Anthony, Brand....)

Actually, the IOC agreed to schedule some events where they were live for our primetime. Swimming and gymnastics mostly. It'll be morning over there.
Anyway, I'll be watching a lot of it.

Thats great if they are going to be in the moring, but I'll be working. I get up between 5:45 and 6:15 each day, get cleaned up, make my lunch, take care of the dog, and I'm out the door soon after that heading to work. So it doesnt matter to me either way. I just cant get excited this year for them. I've tried, but I'm like, eh, doesnt interest me. I guess my interest is just not there anymore.

I'll watch a good bit.

No, no, they will air here during primetime(between 9-11pm ET mostly). The events will take place in the morning in Beijing. It was a compromise NBC made with the IOC(since they are spending billions on the Olympics and the ratings for the last two have suffered in primetime because everything has been on tape).
You can check nbcolympics.com for day by day schedules.
