Hurricanes hate going west across 20+ degree's like they have to when Hati/DR is where it is. So more likely more storms that would of formed by a normal northwestly moving out of the caribbean where destroyed before they had a chance to develop into BIG hurricane to hit florida. I think it is possible we could have a lot more hurricanes hitting if it was not for Hati,DR. I also believe the same for the Yucatan hurting developing low pressures/waves that moves over it, I would bet that there would be 2-3 named storms a year more into the Gulf if it was not for it.

As for this system it looks good. There is a chance this will become fay before hitting PR.

The BT puts the center just south of BVI.

To this day I still find it hard to believe that I was able to pull off a Bahama cruise during that period where Jeanne was making her loop. I really wound up lucking out with the timeframe! If the original track would have played out, or if the cruise would have taken place any later, then the trip would have been ruined.
