Read carefully the discussion and look how difficult decisions are ahead for the TPC forecasters.

I agree, David.
I (even much more so now) don't believe the confidence level should still be so high for a extreme southern Texas landfall.
In the past, stationary to even nearly stationary tropical cyclones have had uncertainty, nothing like the prediction of Claudette moving toward and into southern Texas.
It goes to show if you want to monitor a tropical system, stay with the discussion and/or reports on Tropical Storm Claudette.

Hmmm...I thought Tex/Mex was pretty much a done deal after it started moving west last night. I haven't been online today until recently so I really haven't read much. (been sick in bed)
Is the ridge or whatever that was influencing a westward turn still in place and how long will it be? Since it's stalled now, what will be the next big steering influence or will the ridge still be there, sending it westward?
I'm sorry if I don't make a lot of sense...I know what I'm trying to ask.
