Haven't heard that yet, but I was at work and was only checking the forums and wx sites. Now I'm on lunch and watching the news. I'm sure they're probably advising west islanders to evacuate, which they did during Allison and last year for Fay. They always advise them to go since it's such a low-lying area and it always gets the surge. No word yet here on the east end, although it wouldn't take me too long to pack my car if I had to. I'll wait just a bit longer to see what she does. I'm sure if she stays on the forecast path or just a touch more north of that, they'll dismiss us from work tomorrow. The people who live on Bolivar Peninsula will not want to come to work because once that ferry stops running, they won't be able to get back home unless they take the hour-long way around using the causeway and I-10. By then, it would be too late for them to get stuff from home because Bolivar is like the west end -- low-lying.

It's rained a couple of times in the past hour.

Time to get back to work. I'll check in from there.

Take care, everyone!

One more so you can see the causeway traffic when people start evacuating off the island. It's not busy yet, probably because people have just recently been advised to go and they're packing now.
