Looks like GFDL is coming on board now of nearly stalling Fay right off the FL east coast Wed-Thurs before retrograding westward making landfall near GA-FL border Friday morning.

All I'm trying to say is that she has really impressed me, when other posters were knocking her out in DR and then in Cuba...I mean she's still here...

I feel like she is trying to prove herself now...She's like "OK, Dr and Cuba kicked my ass, and the sheer surely pissed me off alrite, but now that I've made it here, what makes you think I'm gonna die as a Tropical Storm?"

Gotta give her credit, if you ask me...

Again, I've got to agree. I see the NHC retiring this name due to all see's survived and home many extra grey hairs she made possible. I still can't believe she's keeping the models all scattered even after landfall.

Not gonna happen. Unless the GFDL major scenario pans out Fay won't be retired.

Fay actually looks like a cat 1-2 at landfall right now; quite the nasty tropical storm she is. As far as getting better, not to me. She needs more outflow...she looks like she's losing her punch, but she is over the Everglades now.

Uh...what do you think made her "look like a cat 1-2 at landfall"? Especially the category 2?

Ummmm....I don't know...maybe FRANCES, JEANNE, WILMA....personal experience, i guess...I said she LOOKED like one, not that she was, or is...The tight banding, the nice outflow, the nice convection...is that ok? Wouldn't answer that way except your "Uh..." had me going :grr:

This is amazing...she CONTINUES to look better and better on radar. I've even seen Cat 2 hurricanes more disorganized than her. (I'M NOT SAYING SHE IS ONE THOUGH)

Perfectly round eye now, a ring of reds on the north side and on the south side mostly yellows.

The story of Fay is like an adventure novel. Surviving rough shear, mountains, and land interaction. At the end, she found the "inner core" that she was looking for lol.

I finally figured out Fay - she just gets sea sick - she really is a land lover :)

Very interesting, not only does the NHC keep the intensity at 60 mph but they also have the minimum central pressure (est.) a millibar LOWER than at landfall. Seems they're noticing this too.

Wow, she definitely has a better radar presentation than she did while making landfall. Could she possibly be stronger now, or is it just the radar presentation? What do surface reports in the area say?

Afraid I can't help on the surface reports but it wouldn't be TOO shocking if she had strengthened as she is still over an area that is at least 75% water content in the Everglades.

With this sat & radar presentation she sure looks like a hurricane if Fay would had been over water

Fay seems to be doing a little stair stepping last few radar frames.

Could this be another Tropical Storm Erin? Cranking to its strongest strength after landfall?

It does definitely look better right now though. If Fay were still over water, then I would have definitely suspected that we had a hurricane on our hands.

We never got more than 30mph winds in Kendall...I don't expect too much more rain and wind today, I imagine our office may just open in the afternoon.

I do suspect that Lake O should have gone up at least 6-12 inches from this, especially with those bands camped out over her.

You've been overreacting to this storm all night. Maybe a little less coffee would be good for you.
