I am just adding that Fay is my alcoholic mother's name and I teased my mom the other night about this storm and when she asked where it was going I replied, "Who knows, she just keeps wobbling/wondering everywhere as though she has lost her sense of direction". She didn't think it was funny but I sure as heck did. :double:

Well good Tuesday morning to you all. Power was out from about 3:30 until 8, so I'm just getting back up and online now. We just had a nasty squall move through, with some nice sideways rain here in northern Palm Beach County. All in all, though, nothing too ugly considering I went through the eye/eyewall of Wilma a few years ago.

When I lived in Miami, Wilma knocked out power for 9 days. Granted Fay is no Wilma but consider youself lucky that your power is back up so quickly. No power and no air conditioning when it's hot and humid is no fun. Kudos to Florida Power & Light.

Good Tuesday morning- It is 8:35am here in Lehigh Acres, the wind is blowing pretty hard right now and it is rainning hard right at this moment. My road is begining to flood as is the road closest to us. Hope everyone is staying safe and off the roads.

I sure hope she hurries up and gets past us. I'm tired of mopping up water that is coming through the seams of the windows. Those wind gusts have been terrible. My neighbor downstairs isn't happy with the water dripping into her apartment, either.

Good Tues morning, everyone. Here in lovely New Smyrna Beach all's still mostly quiet. We've had a couple small rains come through so far that have popped up on the extreme outside edges of Fay and look to have a couple larger ones here within the hour.

Schools are closed for the next two days, so I get a nice little holiday thanks to Ms. Fay!

Surprisely, Fay now looks the best she has development wise her entire life. Why? The upper level environment. Shear has dropped off dramaticially and it looks as though a small anticyclone has built in over top of her. If she had still managed to stay over the GOM another 12 hrs we might have seen a CAT 2. Will be interesting to see what happens on the future track - will she move NE and then retrograde back W or SW? If so, FL could be dealing with Fay the next 5 days.

Weather radio just alerted of a flash flood warning for me here in Martin County. My street already has about 6 inches of water. Not looking good.

So it appears the rain that was destined for Dade County ended up further north... I am just hoping Lake O can fill up some.
