Looks like slowly Fay's finally beginning to look underneath her and see she's not on water anymore. She definitely still looks better than at landfall but her eye is started to lose structure and elongate. That said, there is still a lot of activity on the south side unlike at landfall so she has a ways to go before looking worse than at landfall. I think her radar presentation has reached its peak though.

Here in north central Collier County the wind continues to whip. No power since 5 (on cell phone now). Outside i have not seen any real damage other then tree limbs down. No idea how strong the winds have been out here. They sound pretty strong.

I'm no pro-met, but wouldn't she get more organized and well, become stronger and maybe reach cat 1 status???

Before Fay the lake O level was 11.26ft. I checked this morning and its only 11.34ft. All that water and it only went up .8ft.

That doesn't sound right... it only went up 2 or 3 inches?

when and if that tight circulation gets back out over water if its still together i hate to think how quickly she could restrengthen! GFDL may not have been to far off with it becoming a Cat 3 once over the atlantic!

Judging by the windfield and torrential downpours Palm Beach County is experiencing this morning, it confirms what I thought we would be seeing. Boca Raton just saw a 42mph gust and new bands are coming in from the SW that could create gusts exceeding 50mph in the next couple of hours.
Fay took the right side of the guidance as I suspected and because she is moving so slowly, looks like some gusty, nasty weather with potential for FLOODING exists across metro SE FL especially Palm Beach County for most of the entire day and into tonight. In the end, Fay will probably make her closest pass to Palm Beach County later this afternoon or so and be within 60-90 miles or so of metro Palm Beach.
It's best the kiddies stayed home today.
