perhaps fay would like to take a breather in the w and NW sides of the lake.

i would recomend anyone from port st. lucie thru cape canaveral take precautions for the potential of minimum hurricane force gusts - with the NE heading at about 40 degrees

does this make sense to anyone else

There is a huge blow-up in cloud tops off the east coast of florida....very near the Gulf Stream. Could Fay somehow be getting a charge by tapping into the 85-90 degree water and pulling that energy in?

Its moving NNE/NE.

She's clearly wobbling (or maybe changing direction) to ENE now:

If she was moving either of those directions she'd be giving people in the TB area the heebie jeebies right now.

This thing looks like it's going NE, ready to parallel the north coast of lake O

Better overhead and venting up trough like Charley but inland version. Those SST's can be delayed when they finally play out. This is what I was looking for but only over water and more towards us.

Winds from NW here now with no rain.

Living near the Gulf Coast of Alabama I am watching this incredible storm. (I still can't believe how it looks on radar.) Looking at the models I would say that there is a good chance that Fay could make it to the GOM.

http://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images ... orm_06.gif

And if it does how long would it be over the GOM? Would it have a chance of becoming a hurricane while over the GOM? And where would it go?

While this has been a frustrating storm, I stand amazed at the tenacity it has exhibited as it has visited several islands, the Keys and the mainland. My hope is that it does not make a hard left and just keeps on going right into the Atlantic, never to return again! Hope and pray all are safe in Florida. RW

Note to self: TC's have learned how to strengthen over land.
I hope the media doesn't figure out that she strengthened over land. The news reports would just start piling in!

Look at all that storminess to her east and northeast. If she then heads back inland and drags all that with her, we will be lamenting for the days when we were once in a drought!

over the next 3 hours watch for hurricane gusts to pick up over buckhead ridge and okeechobee , (along nw coast of lake) there will be a long swath of water that the SE,S winds will be traveling .

Anyone not impressed with this measly tropical storm should not be allowed to post anymore. 8-)

 Or fix their IP's so they get "Page cannot be displayed" errors when they click on this thread 'till she's over. :cheesy:

This has been and continues to be an amazing storm. She seems to be "looking" around now with that eye.
