Just got back from my adventure today. Took a friend out and decided to hunt down tropical storm Fay. We left out of the bradenton area about 11:30-12:00. We thought we would just go to Arcadia to see some wind and rain but decided to go further east to intercept Fay.
We found her at the Brighton indian reservation about 2:00 or 3:00 pm . What a thrill my friend and i spent about a half an hour in the area and called it quits. That was fun hope to do it again.

I think land is finally getting the better of her. How much she weakens from here until exiting the coast will have large implications on her strength at next landfall.

Wow.. Fay is really a crazy one isn't she?! I just got off a plane in Oklahoma and learned that Fay had strengthened over land. Amazing! Thank god my flight got out of Orlando on time, because it looks nasty in that region tonight. I hope everyone is staying safe!

Summer Crow Kabobs
submitted by Gordon Krause (The CrowMaster)
Ingredients
16 pieces of crow breast meat (no bones) (8 crows)
16 pieces of green pepper
16 cherry tomatoes
8 button mushrooms
8 ears of sweet corn
1 1/2 cups of Teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup melted butter
8 kabob skewers
Preparation
Cut each piece of crow in half and place in a covered bowl with the Teriyaki sauce over night. Clean and cut each ear of corn into 3 pieces. Cook in boiling salt water for 10 minutes. Alternately put corn (3 pieces), green peppers (3 pieces) and cherry tomatoes (3) along with 4 pieces of crow meat on each skewer. Use 1 mushroom to top each skewer. Brush with melted butter and place on preheated grill for about 4 minutes. Flip, butter again and place back on grill for another 4 minutes. Repeat one last time for a total of 12 minutes or until they appear done. Serves four adults.

Looks like this had the set-up for explosive development but its been overland so thats prevented it.

I'd say motion is about 30 now, does look like its taken a slightly more easterly bump compared with its track before.

Even if it does weaken from now on given it'll be over water probably within 6hrs the structure won't change a big deal and so when it hits the water expect winds to ramp up pretty quickly.

Last 80 mins moved 5.9 nm at 19 degrees.......she has continued to slow down forward motion since I started watching it at 3pm and the track leaned over just a tad from 10 degrees to the 19-20 now. Now just about 5 nm/hr...actually just a bit less.

If Fay was normal I would say the slowing means a turn is coming.....grin

I have a 9lb terrier/pom mix who recently has become scared to death of rain and storms. (he is 2yrs old) Now that we are under a hurricane watch and looking at nasty weather for the next 2 days, I am trying to figure out what I can do with him. His tail is already tucked and he is shaking, all we have right now is some wind, not even much rain. I would hate to crate him for 2 days. Any ideas?

She still looks good on the radar loop. I don't see much weakening.

Check her out in Google Earth. You can even get a loop going.

Its slowing indeed but still should get to the coast a good deal faster then some of the models expected.

If we are starting to see a turn though it will vbe ahead of what the models all predicted by a good 36hrs so for that reason I doubt its the turn and just the steering currents really becoming weak.
