One thing I did not include, if conditions become more favorable than expected, Claudette would be much stronger than indicated

Sure is looking impressive. Latest radar and sats show a new burst of organization, possibly enough to push it over the edge and intensify this into a hurricane

I agree with this 100% ... notice how rapidly the new convection is spreading west and over the LLC ... RECON should find slightly lower pressures and probably 80kt+ winds ...

Oh wonderful!!! Just what we wanted to hear!!! Not unexpected though, at least by me. I do not expect tomorrow to be real nice weather wise in Houston.

Word of warning to those in the NE quadrant. Take precautions and board up your homes. If this does make landfall a CAT 1 storm, it has the ability to do damage. Had it not been for our local met here we would not have boarded up the front of the house. By the time the storm moved out, it had almost sheared the boards off the front door and my house would have been gone. I have since had hurricane shutters installed. Hurricane Georges made a believer out of me that a CAT 1 can do lots of damage.

MS Claudette sure does look rather attractive this evening (well depending on your view of the situation!) ;)
