RAINFALL OBSERVATIONS THROUGH 8 AM INCLUDE OVER 12 INCHES AT THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE...13.37 INCHES AT FORT
PIERCE...13.83 IN STUART AND 21.70 INCHES IN NORTH MELBOURNE.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND...THIS DOES NOT ACCOUNT FOR RAIN THAT HAS
OCCURRED DURING THE PAST TWO HOURS!

Thanks Brent

Yeah that is some sick observations. 21.70 in north melbourne and it's lit like a Christmas tree right now. Should be well over two feet of rain by now.

Guess i was pretty close with my 14 in here in stuart last night..

Fay's outflow to the pole (exaggeration) about to be disrupted.

Yeah the trough looks like its finally totally leaving Fay behind, motion stopping isn't that surprising as the steering currents start to transfer.

Also the GFS did forecast a good 25-30 inches in places with a fairly large region above 15 inches...

Looks a mess though the circulation is pretty obvious thanks to the patchy nature of the deeper convection.

Anyone think that the increase in instablity overland will help to pop convection?

anyone who understand the synoptics of the situation and the current steering currents

is it possible for fay to loop SE thru warmer waters and then cut across florida about 50 miles south of where she currently is?

You know, I've heard the word "Bust" thrown around a few times over the last few days. I'd like to take this time to give those who used it a chance to take it back.

I hope those in the Melbourne area are ready, because this looks pretty bad.

It looks to me like she might be trying to wrap rainbands back into the center now...

this is what I have been told - treat them like everything is normal. Don't tell them everything will be alright - that will only re-enforce their fear they are already having. You can also give them a benedryl if you have any. Our 51 lb. dog can take 2 every 4 hours as needed per the vet. This helps them to calm down and sleep through the worst of it if need be. Hope this helps.

Looks that way to me too. Growing convection on the whole east side of the center, and re-establishing on the west side.

It's mostly cloudy at the moment after heavy showers and a few gusty winds. So far today 0.42 inches of rain and a 22 mph gust. Thanks to Fay, 5.58 inches of rain.
