I am co-chair of the beach restoration on Cape San Blas, Florida. I obviously am concerned about Fay's track. I also have a new webcam on the house here, which is 1000 feet from the active restoration point. We don't have ABS on it yet (my husband was bringing it down tomorrow but now he's waiting to see if we're stopped or delayed). I don't want to post a link unless that's approrpriate either. Anyway, where can I ask for professional opinions on what we'll see here? I do the blog for our restoration project and people will begin to ask me questions about what will happen and I want to be informed. I apologize if this is not where I should post. Thanks in advance for any asssitance. Laurel
The best place to ask questions of the Pro Mets is in the Tropical Analysis Forum.

Considering that UF was rated the #1 party school in the country; Fay may stay awhile.
Besides it is "rush week" so she might want to join a sorority since she may be here in Fl for about 4 years!

but where would she be likely to go after that? does anybody think she may eventually do another boomerang and re-cross the florida peninsula from west to east??
I think all guesses are equal at this point.

Erin I believe is the system you are talking about. She really "reorganized over Ok. City. Wildest thing I ever saw.

Suppose it will eventually slough over and crumble west - and probably slowly at that.

This has been a really weird storm to follow. I usually lurk but I know some people here from other forums. I am adding this post, although this forum doesn't need any more posts because there seemed to be an unusually silent night out there when I walked my dog here in New Orleans. There wasn't ANY wind tonight, it didn't rain today or yesterday which was the first time in god knows how long. It was just a hot and humid August night.
Look, I don't know how to tell where storms are going to go. However, I have lived here long enough to know when a storm is starting to get close. We have had so much rainy weather in New Orleans this summer, it is surprising to see no significant amount of rain in the area for 2 days.
I feel the calm before the storm is at hand. That and the Bears were moving the ball on offense with their first team and with a roookie RB from Tulane.

Fay seems to have moved NW north of Gainesville as on the water vapor loop. Is this an illusion?

Re: ATL: Tropical Storm Fay in East Coast of Florida
Dr. Lyons showed the WV loop and showed the SW winds ahead of Fay - even if she makes it into the GOM he was very pessimistic for any intensification - he said, in fact, Fay could weaken while over the GOM if she goes back over water....
Anyway, the story now is the flooding. JAX is going to get pounded overnight, unfortunately. A very intense feeder band has setup shop over Duval County and shows no signs of leaving soon.
