Fay moving farther inland over northern Florida...
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the Gulf Coast of
Florida from Aripeka northward and westward to Indian Pass...and a
tropical storm watch remains in effect from west of Indian Pass
westward to Destin.

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect from Sebastian Inlet
Florida northward to the Savannah River at the border between
Georgia and South Carolina.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are
expected within the warning area within the next 24 hours. A
tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are
possible within the watch area...generally within 36 hours.

For storm information specific to your area...including possible
inland watches and warnings...please monitor products issued
by your local weather office.

At 200 am EDT...0600z...the center of Tropical Storm Fay was
located near latitude 29.4 north...longitude 81.8 west or about
50 miles...80 km...west-northwest of Daytona Beach Florida. This
position is also about 30 miles...50 km...east-northeast of Ocala
Florida.

Fay is now moving toward the west near 5 mph...8 km/hr. Fay is
forecast to move westward or west-northwestward with some increase
in forward speed during the next couple of days. On this
track...the center of Fay is expected to move slowly westward across
the northern Florida Peninsula today...and move near
or over the Florida Panhandle coast tonight and Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50 mph...80 km/hr...
with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast during the next
24 hours...but Fay is expected to remain a tropical storm into
Saturday.

Those in Central Florida will be getting a long deserved break. Then that rainband in the west quad will spiral around and the rains will continue again.

Dare I say a little WSW wobbling going on. If nothing else I see no north component to her track. She is clipping due west for sure.

I know the NHC says 5mph but she looks to be moving quite a bit quicker than that. I think she pissed Mickey Mouse off enough and he pulled out his hurricane moving machine...LOL I'm so delirious. I'm just happy to see her finally moving. Looks like GA is getting a good bit of rain too.

Yea I am still trying to decide for myself what is happening.

She isn't that bad. I mean she was so much better looking that we are not use to this. I mean look at Edouard. He was sooo much worst than this. At least we have a defined center we can follow.

29.4/82.2 or just south of Gaineville. It is moving around 270 degree's. I expect it to move into the gulf with in the next 12-14 hours.

Using Moody AFB radar looks like the center of circulation will pass between Ocala and Gainesville....but that site is 90 miles away to the north.

Using Jax radar at about a 60nm range the same center of circulation is a little elongated and just a bit north of midway between Ocala and Gainesville

TPA radar says even closer to Gainesville....111 miles to the radar site

And of course with those variations comes the due west or mebbe little s of due west conflict as well...grin

She looks fine. Obviously she looked better offshore, but she looks just dandy for being on land for 6 hours and interacting with land for 24 hours.
