From looking at the radar you porvided, I agree. That'd be worst case senerio at this point if that where to happen. But it's not impossible for her to do that.

Oh, and Slidell radar indicates max precip in the 1-2 inch rain north of Baton Rouge into southern MS north of LA. New Orleans rainfall generally under 0.2 inches.

Under 0.2inches is hard to believe, mind you, there haven't been big down pours all day long, but we are under a Flash Flood watch. Yeah, I know the difference between and watch and warning, , but, still.

Sean: I've been hearing we can expect some possibile big totals also.

With New Orleans running over 8.5" below normal for the year, this could actually be a blessing as long as the pumps aren't overwhelmed.

Well, nothing has been set in stone with this system. We cleaned out all of the catch basins around my house and they are draining perfectly. One thing that gets on my nerves is we had to go around the corner and clean the catch basin in front of my neighbors house...we were shoveling for over a half an hour. It was ridiculous. I don't understand why people don't clean their catch basins. The ones on my block I only had to sweep a few piles of oak leaves and they were fine. The one around the corner was completely blocked. Oh well, it's clear now, but, I don't think it is right for people to not keep the area in front of their house properly cleaned.

When that big batch of rain goes back into the Gulf, could it strengten once it goes back inland around AL? Or will the dry air slot still be there keeping the moisture at bay?

I'm pretty surprised at the wind---Fay seems to still be a depression or a broad windy system. We've had sustained winds of 30 to 35mph most of the day, with gusts over 40 mph. Even Carl Arredondo made note of the gusts of 40 mph at New Orleans Interational Airport.

We have had cloudy skies and then sunshine over here in Alabama. The bay is semi rough but I have seen it a lot rougher. The water has filled in from yesterday when the wind pushed it out.

Tomorrow looks like it will be rainy day for us according the weather reports. My girls even called my mom and told her that they heard school was cancelled. Wishful thinking on their part. (No, Baldwin County schools have not cancelled their classes)

Lafayette is about to receive a very heavy band from Fay, at least over towards the airport and the eastern side of the parish. Wasn't expecting much from this but there are more storms forming upstream to the north so we could end up with a decent soaking. I have a feeling we might get quite a bit more than forecasted since Fay will continue moving West or WSW tonight. Crazy storm!!!

Expect the winds to remain brisk tonight.. not sure on rainfall.. keep watching the radar to see if whats in LA swings around to the MS coast... If we get any it will be from that direction .... my opinion only FWIW

I just received a call from relatives near Jackson, MS wanting to know how the weather was here in Biloxi. Jackson, MS TV stations so my relatives told me are saying that the remnants of Fay is stalled, not moving. Is it scheduled to move back to the WSW tonight?
