WHOA! We had an insane storm today

Max. Min.
03 17:55 NE 20 G 68 0.75 Thunderstorm Heavy Rain BKN008 OVC022 77 68 29.94 NA 0.40

Winds gusted to 68 mph at the airport in Tunica and my neighbors shed's roof is in our driveway. It blew about 100 yards to get there. The temp also went from 102 to the middle 70s like that! *snaps fingers*

We're getting a nice severe thunderstorm now - with hail! I haven't seen that in a while.

THAT ONE was right over me!

The hail was larger than the first one. Crap! Twice in one day and a tornado warning to boot! I was looking at the clouds before the second one came and said to myself that they was some scary-a$$ looking clouds. That storm sat over northern Salem County for at least an hour or so. I had a stream running through my backyard with all kinds of debris dragged through it. When the winds started to pickup I was starting to wonder which pets I can grab first to throw into the basement.

This is the worst I've seen around here in a long time. There's all kinds of flooding around the area. THANK GOD no touch down though.

Okay, so the first two storms brought in a combined 2.30" of rain.

The THIRD ONE of the day that just passed through had to have brought in at least an inch of rain. It was windier with this one than the last one with the tornado warning. I had another stream in my back and front yards. No hail this time, but we do have some moisture stains on some of our ceilings. Marty went into the attic and the soil pipes had water running down them - not a lot but enough. He has to get some more of that sprayable expanding foam to seal around them. Other than that, the roof looked dry on the inside.

This is DEFINITELY a first for me here. I've never had three severe storms come rolling through our town.

I started a thread for what looks like, from the models, almost an early Spring event in Georgia/Carolinas, maybe Florida, around Wednesday. Instability looks a bit lacking, but wind dynamics look like March. Except not a lot of directional shear. But maybe enough...

The news video of this was rather impressive. I was a massive stovepipe shaped funnel. They said there was not much damage fortunately.

Meanwhile...

September is going to be the 8th month above 3-a average regarding the tornado count. Only April was below.
