Flood watches dropped for New Orleans area....looks like most areas got 1-2" in the metro area.....far cry from the 10" that could have happened with a more west track. Nice to see the Big Easy luck out for a change!

I was grateful. I surely didn't want anything more while visiting the Big Easy.

Turned out to be a pretty nice day on the Gulf Coast after the morning rain left us. We are still under a flash flood watch because of the bands coming through but I don't see anything yet.

Got another 1"+ down in the bayou today from a last band moving through including the last hour or so. Brought us to a little over 4" down in Lafourche.
See ya Fay.

Wow those are some widespread rain totals in the latest HPC statement. I know were still under flood warnings here in SW Florida from Fay. Clearly some welcomed rains in so many other needy areas though. The good and the bad from these tropical systems as usual..although Fay was rather dramatic and widespread for never being a hurricane.

Got a call from one of my agents in Montgomery with reports of downed trees and tree limbs and generally nasty weather last night and earlier this morning. Fay is still a player out there but has been long forgotten on storm2k.
Beneficial rains with some tornado warnings up right now for South Carolina.

I live in north GA, and we've been under flood flash warning all day... it's been pouring since last night... we've also had tornado watches and warning throughout GA since early this morning...

The remmnants of Fay have finally reached my location. Forecasts call for nothing but showers, but the radar looks like it will be more than just showers. We could use the rain. I like to go out and try to smell the salt air that was once over the ocean.

Hey Everyone, long time! After that CRAZY 2005 season (and of course Andrew in 92), we packed up and moved out of Homestead into the Richmond area of Virginia. Let me tell you, it is REALLY NICE to just get the remnants of these storms. It has been raining Fay here for a couple of days, last night was the most with at least 4 inches here on the west side. On Sunday, we are heading back to Homestead then Orlando for two weeks. I wonder if Hannah is going to sense we are there and give us a reminder of why we left! Okay, one more thing...weirdly named storms don't seem to affect us. We personally dealt with Andrew, Katrina, Rita, Wilma and Charley. Somehow, I figured Fay might come my way but not Gustav. Hannah, which is a relatively common name, just might hit us wherever we are!
